Cra-Z-Art will lease space at new Imeson 300

The New Jersey company will relocate to the 300,000-square-foot warehouse now under development.

Three development firms will present five locations for JEA’s board of directors to consider today as the utility prepares to build a new corporate headquarters in the coming year. The companies released some details about their proposals Friday through JEA and its real estate firm CBRE that identify several potential locations for a new campus. While the bids do not contain financial, legal or other proprietary information, all depict alternatives to the company’s 55-year old tower and customer service center at 21 W. Church St. They include relocating the company into new office space or redeveloping the existing campus. According to the Invitation to Negotiate JEA advertised Oct. 8, the utility seeks to be a single tenant in a Class A office building no larger than 200,000 square feet to accommodate 836 employees. JEA and CBRE received six bids in early January. They narrowed the field to three

Cra-Z-Art, which was approved for incentives in November under the code name Project Buckeye, will lease Imeson 300, the VanTrust Real Estate LLC warehouse under development in North Jacksonville. Cra-Z-Art sells activity, art and school supplies, toys and stationery products and intends to relocate manufacturing and distribution functions to the 300,000-square-foot industrial facility. Cra-Z-Art is a division of LaRose Industries LLC, which is based in Randolph, New Jersey. VanTrust Executive Vice President John Carey said Monday that his company has entered into an agreement with The Silverman Group of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, building when the shell is completed. That is expected late summer. Carey said The Silverman Group has leased the building

Aldi to reopen Middleburg store Aldi announced Monday it will reopen its renovated Middleburg store Feb. 14. The store is at 1702 Blanding Blvd. in front of the Lowe’s home improvement center. The Germany-based grocer will host a ribboncutting at 8:25 a.m. on opening day and offer gift cards to the first 100 customers. Grand reopening events continue Feb. 15-17, with giveaways and a chance to win a year’s supply of produce. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
