Two speculative warehouses of about 500,000 square feet each are in review for Imeson International Industrial Park in North Jacksonville. Industrial Park Investments Inc. intends to build an almost 480,000-squarefoot warehouse and VanTrust Real Estate LLC submitted plans for a speculative structure of about 495,000 square feet. Orlando-based Industrial Park Investments released a rendering of the warehouse it intends to develop on 31 acres at 250 Busch Drive E. at southeast Busch Drive East and North Main Street. A JEA power availability letter calls it a “478,000-square-foot warehouse with 200 employees and 102 loading bays.” JEA and city Planning Department documents show the property will have 337 parking spaces and 133 spaces for trailer parking. A national skin and hair care products manufacturer is considering expanding in Jacksonville with 30 permanent and 400 seasonal jobs in exchange for $1.425 million in city incentives. The city Office of Economic

Development plans to introduce legislation this month seeking approval of an economic development agreement with an unidentified company code-named “Project Flamingo.” According to a project summary, Project Flamingo is a national distributor of private-label skin and hair care products that wants to establish an e-commerce logistics, warehouse and distribution facility in Northwest Jacksonville. It plans to lease about 200,000 square feet of space to service customers in the Southeast. Project Flamingo proposes to

hire the 30 full-time employees by year-end 2021 at an average annual salary of $46,346. The positions include managerial, logistical, warehouse, receiving and shipping, forklift operators, truck drivers and other support staff. According to public documents, the company also could hire 400 seasonal workers annually. The company estimates an annual payroll of $1.4 million. Project Flamingo proposes to invest $37.5 million, comprising $24 million in machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures, and

St. Johns County OKs Wawa plans The St. Johns County Commission gave a Michigan-based developer permission to remove a Z-Best furniture rental location in St. Augustine for construction of a Wawa convenience store. A subsidiary of The Velmeir Companies will develop a 6,116-square-foot Wawa gas station and convenience store at northeast U.S. 1 and St. Augustine Drive South. Wawa opened its fifth store Nov. 1 in Northeast Florida at 9715 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
