Bay St. will be imploded at a cost of $4.95 million, the application shows. Environmental Holdings Group LLC of Morrisville, North Carolina, is the contractor. The structure, built in 1960, comprises 200,140 square feet of enclosed space and 28,149 square feet of unenclosed space. It sits on 2.39 acres. The seven-story courthouse building at 330 E. Bay St. will be demolished at a cost of $3 million. Environmental Holdings Group was chosen as the contractor for that as well. The structure, built in 1956, comprises 357,757 square feet of enclosed space and 12,632 square feet of unenclosed space. It sits on 5.98 acres.
The city of Jacksonville is taking steps to prepare part of the Downtown Northbank for redevelopment. Three pieces of legislation are scheduled to be introduced Tuesday to address zoning, permitted uses and other technical issues for the land known as the Shipyards and Metropolitan Park on the riverfront. City Council meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall Downtown at 117 E. Duval St. Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan is the master developer of the roughly 98 acres through Iguana Investments Florida LLC. Khan proposes to build an estimated $2.5 billion multiphase, mixed-use d e ve l o p m e n t stretching from the parking lots west of TIAA Bank Field into Me t ro p o l i ta n Khan Park and near the Berkman Plaza II property along East Bay Street. The city, the Florida Department of Transportation and Multimedia Holdings Corp. own the 98.72 acres subject to the zoning changes. Through Ordinance 2018-770, the mayor’s office is requesting the properties be rezoned from public buildings and facilities (PFB-1), recreation and open space (ROS), and planned unit development (PUD) to commercial central business district

Demolition looms along East Bay Street for the City Hall Annex and former Duval County Courthouse. Permit applications were filed Thursday to take down the city-owned structures at a cost of $7.95 million. Interior demolition and some site work is underway.
