A Jacksonville development group is working to build 18 single-family homes on the Intracoastal Waterway in the Isle of Palms neighborhood. George Leone and Andy Allen, founders of Corner Lot Development Group, are behind Palm Island, a gated community off Stacey Road West on Beswick Island. It’s midway between Beach and Butler boulevards. The homes and lots range from $1 million to $2.5 million and include private boat docks and deep-water access. Lots are about a quarter-acre with homes from 2,500 square feet to 4,500 square feet. Clients will be able to choose among three Jacksonville custom homebuilders: Glenn Layton Homes, John Merrill Homes and Architectural Classics. Of the 18 lots, 10 are available. Allen said the three builders “understand building homes just as much as building lifestyle.” The community will be surrounded by a bulkhead and the homes will wrap around a central lagoon, a news release said. Florida Coastal sued by former president Dennis Stone claims wrongful termination.

The former president of Florida Coastal School of Law is suing the school, alleging wrongful termination and unpaid compensation. Dennis Stone resigned as Florida Coastal’s president effective July 15, but retains his position as a tenured professor

Inquiry for a massive Cecil facility
Hillwood, the developer of AllianceFlorida at Cecil, says it was asked about a 2.5 million-square-foot distribution center site.
