Greenbriar Downs, a proposed 818-unit, agerestricted residential community, is a step closer to development in Northwest St. Johns County. The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved rezoning Tuesday for the 784-acre mixed-use development at County Road 210 West. It is restricted to a population older than 18 and is designed to be developed over 20 years. “Greenbriar Downs is designed to help residents lead an active lifestyle after retirement and allow older adults to remain autonomous by offering specific amenities such as structured activities, socialization, and a sense of community,” said the rezoning application. WCI Communities LLC, a subsidiary of Lennar Corp., sought to rezone the property to allow SEE GREENBRIAR, PAGE 2

A new car dealership appears to be on the way to West Jacksonville. TT of Pickettville Inc. bought 9.38 undeveloped acres at southwest Interstate 295 and Commonwealth Avenue for $4 million. It purchased the property Feb. 26 from N.G. Wade Investment Co. The company is led by Terry Taylor, listed in state records as president and director. Taylor leads two other companies that own dealerships in Jacksonville. TT of Duval Inc. owns the Jacksonville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Arlington at 9600 Atlantic Blvd., a former Toys R Us store it bought in 2011. It expanded on that site. TT of Jacksonville Inc. owns Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat at 11101 Nurseryfields Drive in Southeast Jacksonville. The three-story dealership was built in 2004 at northeast I-295 near Baymeadows Road. Taylor is based in West Palm Beach. He and the local dealership managers did not respond to phone calls. The proposed Westside dealership has been in review. In January, the Jacksonville Planning Commission approved a minor modification to the Pickettville Road planned unit development to revise the site plan for an automobile dealership. The site originally was approved for 150,000 square feet of commercial uses, which allow SEE TAYLOR, PAGE 2
