Gildan leasing Northside warehouse Clothing company coming to NorthPort Logistics Center. By Karen Brune Mathis Editor Montreal-based Gildan Activewear Inc. signed a lease for 306,611 square feet of distribution and office space at NorthPort Logistics Center in North Jacksonville. The city is reviewing a permit application for a $353,770 buildout at 11530 New Berlin Road for Gildan. Tenant Contractors Inc. is the contractor and Hota Design Studio is the architect. A representative of the building ownership said Gildan, with a long-term lease, will fill the remaining vacant space in the almost 873,000-square-foot warehouse. Plans show offices, a conference room, breakroom, customer service and showroom in the office portion. The warehouse takes up the majority of the space. Grimes Logistics leases the rest of the building on a long-term lease, the representative said. Dan Stover, first vice president with Newmark Grubb Phoenix Realty Group, represented the building owner. Bart Hinson, senior associate with Colliers International, represented Gildan. Gildan did not immediately respond to an email or call for comment. The company maintains a global network of distribution centers

Permits issued for TIAA Bank signs at former EverBank headquarters. By Scott Sailer Editorial Research Director Signs for TIAA Bank are expected to be up by midyear at EverBank’s headquarters in Riverside. The city Building Inspection Division issued six permits Monday for wall signs for TIAA Bank at 501 Riverside Ave. Those will replace the EverBank name. Bank spokeswoman Tori Pappas said

Tuesday the company expects all the building and financial center signs to be completed by midyear. Signs are going up on the building’s four sides and two more will be on the first floor. Jacksonville-based EverBank Financial Corp. is becoming TIAA Bank after its merger with TIAA Direct. Pappas said work will start in the next few weeks on the Riverside building.

Taking down the existing signs, repairing marks on the building walls and installing the new signs will take eight to 10 weeks, she said. Pappas said the process is dependent on the weather. All the proposed sign changes require the bank to obtain permits, prepare architectural and engineering plans, get owner approvals and make repairs. Signs
