Floret + Foliage
BOLD BLOOMS, UNFORGETTABLE DESIGNS
By Brady Drake
Floret + Foliage stands out with color, structure, and daring design. Led by Allison Lunde, the Fargo-based floral studio has built its reputation on creating statement florals that feel as alive and expressive as the couples they represent.
“Flowers should make you feel something,” Lunde said. "Our couples want artistic floral installations that transform a space, centerpieces that spark joy, and color stories that stay in your memory. Whatever you need, we can help.
At Floret + Foliage, no two weddings are ever alike. Whether it’s a sprawling arch bursting with coral peonies and fuchsia dahlias, or a minimalist structural piece that plays with negative space, the team thrives on interpreting a couple’s vision through texture, tone, and movement. Every petal, stem, and leaf contributes to a cohesive visual experience.
Get Your Flower Journey Started!
PLANNING THE
Perfect Florals
Lunde and her team handle 75 to 100 weddings each year, an amount that allows them to balance a full calendar while maintaining the intimacy of a boutique studio. Their process is both streamlined and personal.
Couples typically begin by submitting an inquiry through the Floret + Foliage website. From there, an initial phone call lays the groundwork for inspiration, budget, and scope. In the months leading up to the big day, clients meet with the team as often, or as little, as they like to finalize the details.
For prime wedding months like September, Lunde recommends reaching out a year in advance. However, flexibility is part of her brand’s DNA. “If we can make it happen, we will,” she said.
Because flowers are sourced globally, availability is often a matter of timing. For example, orders from the Holland market can open up nearly endless options, provided the couple reaches out in advance.
While Floret + Foliage is known for its sweeping installations and showstopping color palettes, the studio remains accessible to all couples. There’s no minimum order for pickups, whether a client needs a single bridal bouquet or fullscale event design, they’re treated with the same creative energy and care.
Rooted firmly in Fargo, Floret + Foliage has become a creative cornerstone of the local wedding scene. Their designs bring color and confidence to every celebration, redefining what wedding flowers can be.
Whether you’re dreaming of a ceremony draped in vivid florals or a reception that feels like walking into an art installation, Lunde and her team know how to translate that vision into something unforgettable.
HAS ALL OF YOUR WEDDING JEWELRY NEEDS
WOMEN’S WEDDING BANDS
Women’s wedding bands symbolize everlasting love and partnership, beautifully reflecting both the emotional bond of marriage and the wearer’s personal elegance and identity.
WOMEN’S ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Be ready to shine for the big moment! Wimmer's has so many options for engagement rings, but most importantly, they'll help you find the right one!
MEN’S WEDDING BANDS
Men’s wedding bands serve as a timeless symbol of commitment, unity, and personal style, representing both the promise of partnership and the individuality of the wearer.
FAQs
How do you help someone find a ring that matches their personality and lifestyle?
"Occasionally, clients come in with a clear vision of their dream ring, sometimes sharing photos of inspiration they’ve saved in their phone or from seeing what others are wearing, and sometimes they have no idea where to
start. Assisting a client in finding the perfect ring all stems from an initial conversation and getting to know who they are and what their lifestyle is like. The conversation always tends to lead us in the right direction."
What are the most important things to know before purchasing an engagement ring?
“Many are overwhelmed by the process, but please know that the steps to buying an engagement ring are really quite simple. We are trying to
achieve two main goals: 1) finding a ring they love, 2) at a price point that is affordable to you, whatever your budget may be.”
How do you help couples create bands that complement each other (and their engagement ring)?
“Trends come and go. At one point in time, it was common for couples to want to be very matchy-matchy with their rings. That is no longer the case… most of the time. These days,
couples are choosing ring styles that reflect the ring wearer’s individual personality and taste. The main point here is that you need to love the ring you’re wearing.”
What are some of your most popular jewelry gifts for weddings or anniversaries?
“Many of our grooms come in before the wedding and select a diamond necklace or pair of earrings to gift
their future bride on their wedding day, often suggesting pieces that can be worn far beyond the day of the wedding.”
What are your most popular styles for bridesmaid jewelry—earring studs, necklaces, or bracelets?
“Bridesmaid jewelry varies between bracelets, necklaces, and earrings—there isn’t necessarily a most popular item. Some brides select items that
are all the same for the bridesmaids, and others choose different items for each, which is a reflection of each individual.”
WEDDING DAY JEWELRY
Bridal jewelry celebrates love and new beginnings, adding timeless elegance and sentimental meaning to one of life’s most cherished moments.
GIFT TO THE BRIDESMAIDS
Bridesmaid jewelry gifts are a heartfelt way to show gratitude and connection by offering each friend a timeless keepsake that honors their support and shared memories.
At The 44, every single event supports local students through the Richland #44 Foundation. When couples celebrate here, they’re also helping create new opportunities for the next generation— and that’s something truly special to be part of. Couples can literally say, “Our wedding made a difference.”
Not Your Typical Barn or Ballroom
For years, weddings have been held in hotel ballrooms simply because it was convenient. But with easy transportation options today, why settle for a space that’s dark and closed in when you can have a bright, open venue and still ensure guests arrive and return safely?
Barns can absolutely be beautiful, but if you’re looking for something that feels modern, timeless, and just different, The 44 was built for you. Clean architecture, tall ceilings, and a timeless aesthetic create an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. A perfect canvas for any theme, color palette, or décor style.
Intentional Design, Seamless Flow, and Service
The 44 was designed so your day feels easy from start to finish—from your ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The layout moves naturally between spaces, keeping guests connected and comfortable. The professional AV system allows speeches and announcements to be heard clearly throughout the venue while outdoor moments stay peaceful.
You’ll also notice how everything feels intentional— from the acoustics to the lighting to the people behind the scenes. Our team truly cares about you and your day. We’re there to make sure you feel taken care of, supported, and celebrated— so you can simply enjoy it all.
Customizable Packages & Flexible Spaces
Every couple has a different vision, and we love bringing that to life. You can customize your bar packages, seating layout, and ceremony setup. We offer round tables and custom-designed chairs for classic, polished look,
and a select number of handcrafted wooden rectangles for couples who want to add a modern, designer feel.

Janna Koble, Ask the Expert:
General Manager at The 44 Venue
“With 17 years of experience across both small and large scale events and over a decade in the bridal industry, my approach comes from experience, a big heart, and a passion for connection.”
Q: What makes your approach unique as a venue manager?
A: With years of experience across events of all sizes, I approach every couple with the same care and attention I’d want for my own event. When I trained bridal consultants, I always told them: “Become your client’s friend. Get to know who they are, their fiancé, their family, and their why. That builds trust and creates lifelong connections."
Even now, I stay in touch with brides from years ago—I remember their names, their dresses, their moms and sisters. That’s the level of care I hope to bring to every couple at The 44. I want to know where they’re from, celebrate their milestones, and someday see them back here for family photos or their sibling’s wedding.
I hope people think of us as more than just a venue— because it’s never just about the day itself. It’s about the people, the purpose, and the memories made here.
Q: What’s your best advice for couples planning their wedding?
A: Communicate, trust your vendors, and remember we’re all on the same team—our goal is to make your day incredible. Everyone communicates differently, so give each other (and your team) a little grace. Be open-minded; sometimes the logistics or budget might shift things, but that doesn’t make your vision any less special.
We have so many talented local vendors in this region. Higherpriced doesn’t always mean better, and affordable doesn’t mean average. Find people who care about you, your story, and your day—that connection makes all the difference.

My 5 Simple Reminders for a Day You’ll
Truly Enjoy
1. Make your day personal. Trends can be gorgeous, but the most memorable weddings are the ones that truly reflect who you are as a couple.
2. Delegate what you can, and if possible, hire a wedding planner or coordinator—or at least a day-of coordinator. They’ll handle the details, manage communication, and make sure everything runs smoothly so you and your family can focus on what really matters: soaking in every single moment.
3. While the tradition of not seeing your fiancé until the ceremony is beautiful, remember—that means you’ll spend half your wedding day
apart. This day is about the two of you, so make the most of it together. A first look can still be incredibly meaningful, as it often eases nerves before the ceremony and gives you more time to enjoy your day side by side—after all, isn't that what it's really all about?
4. Go with the flow. It’s great to have a timeline, but it’s okay if things don’t go exactly as planned—your wedding won’t start without you!
5. Truly enjoy the day. Take moments to look around, see who’s with you, and appreciate everyone who showed up to celebrate you.

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DAY IN TWO SENTENCES?
We got married May 31, 2025! It was the most beautiful day surrounded by family, friends, and the presence of God. It truly felt like a dream come to life full of love, joy, and peace.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE? AND WHAT VENUE DID YOU CHOOSE?
We Chose the Pines White in Davenport North Dakota! it instantly felt like us romantic, timeless, and full of light. My husband loved the whimsical, almost farmhouse vibe and how green and alive everything becomes in the spring. We both loved how the ceremony could be held outside, surrounded by God’s creation. Loved the inside as well with the most beautiful light filling the room and pouring through every window it truly felt heavenly.
THINKING BACK TO YOUR WEDDING, WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AT THE VENUE?
We loved how open and bright everything felt the space was filled with so much light, love, and joy. More than that, the people who worked there made the experience so special. They were kind, genuine, and made everything flow so smoothly that we could truly be present and soak in every moment. It felt effortless.
WHAT'S ONE FUN STORY OR UNIQUE MEMORY FROM YOUR RECEPTION?
One of my favorite memories was surprising my husband, Wes, with our first dance song. I secretly recorded myself singing “Nothing New (I Do)” by Brandon Lake with the help of our DJ, Corey from Take the Leap Entertainment. Wes had no idea! I only told my parents and a few close friends so seeing his reaction when he realized it was me singing was the sweetest moment. We also had a live painter capturing our first kiss, and it was so fun throughout the night to see everyone stop by to watch the painting come to life. Wes and I kept sneaking over to check on the progress it was such a special, creative touch that made the night even more unforgettable!
WHAT'S YOUR BEST WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
Don’t lose sight of what the day is truly about! the two of you and the commitment you’re making before God. It’s so easy to get caught up in the details, but the most meaningful moments come when you slow down, pray together, and soak it all in. Trust your team, let go of perfection, and enjoy every second. It goes by so fast.
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE PLANNING PROCESS?
The hardest part was balancing all the decisions and wanting everything to feel just right while still being apart for part of the engagement with Wes being in the military. It was a lot to juggle at times, but it taught me so much about patience, faith, and leaning on God’s timing. In the end, everything came together even better than I could’ve imagined.
BRADYN & WESLEY THOMPSON
WHAT PROBLEMS OR SITUATIONS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLANNING PROCESS?
I wouldn’t say it was a problem, but one of the biggest obstacles I faced was deciding between DIY projects to save money or paying a little extra to save time. I had to find that balance between wanting to add personal touches and also giving myself grace to let certain things go like signage and décor pieces. In the end, choosing what truly mattered most made the process so much smoother (and a lot less stressful). I was surprised by how many little details come up that you don’t think about until the last minute things like timelines, vendor communication, and how quickly everything starts to overlap near the end. It taught me a lot about staying flexible and giving myself grace. Even when things didn’t go perfectly, it always worked out exactly how it was meant to.
WHAT WAS THE EASIEST PART? AND WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN?
The easiest part was choosing each other and also choosing our vendors! We were surrounded by such amazing people who truly cared about making our day special and made the whole process so much easier. The most fun part was watching everything come to life from our vision to the little details and hearing “Mr. and Mrs. Thompson” for the first time. Walking down the aisle together with our family and friends cheering was one of the happiest moments of our lives.
WHAT DID YOU ENVISION YOUR WEDDING TO BE LIKE BEFORE THE PLANNING PROCESS STARTED AND HOW DID THAT CHANGE THROUGHOUT?
From the very beginning, I envisioned a day centered on becoming one under God a celebration that reflected our faith, love, and the start of a new chapter together. I always dreamed of a fairytale wedding surrounded by our loved ones, with meaningful little details that felt us. One of my favorite ideas was our guest book instead of signing, guests left us voicemails on a vintage telephone, inspired by how Wes and I always leave each other voice messages. Throughout planning, my vision stayed the same at its core, but it grew even more personal and heartfelt as everything came together.
DID YOU TAKE ANY SPECIAL STEPS TO MAINTAIN A BUDGET?
Yes! I kept everything organized in an Excel sheet to track expenses and payments, which helped me stay on top of our budget. I also communicated regularly with my parents and my husband to make sure we were all on the same page about priorities and spending. It definitely made things feel more manageable and less stressful!
WHAT WAS THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU LEARNED THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?
I’m such a perfectionist, and I wanted every single detail to be perfect but the biggest lesson I learned is that true perfection comes when you finally let go. The moment I stopped stressing over the small things and focused on being present with my husband, our loved ones, and God, everything fell perfectly into place. The day was more beautiful than I could have ever planned! Everybody says that you should have fun and enjoy the wedding planning process, but it is easy to get stressed!
ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO STAY CALM DURING THE STRESSFUL PARTS?
Remember to take breaks and pray through the stress. It’s so easy to get caught up in the little details, but taking a step back helps you see the bigger picture—you're marrying the love of your life! Talking things through with my husband, family, or friends always helped me reset and breathe. I also made wedding planning fun by going to a winery with two of my best friends we had a little wine, shared a charcuterie board, filled out vendor sheets, and made a plan together. Turning it into something enjoyable made such a difference. And if you have a pet, go cuddle them, it’s the best stress relief!
WHAT WERE THE STANDOUT VENDORS OR PRODUCTS YOU FOUND THAT MADE YOUR DAY MEMORABLE?
There were so many amazing vendors who made our day everything we dreamed of and more. The Pines White was absolutely stunning, from the light that filled the room to the incredible team who made everything run so smoothly. Our DJ, Corey with Take the Leap Entertainment, was amazing from start to finish and kept the night full of energy and fun. Our videographer, Sublime Exposures Films, and our photographer, With You Always, captured every moment so beautifully and gave us memories we’ll cherish forever.
The florals by Love Always were breathtaking. My husband built the cross at the altar, and the flowers surrounding it framed it perfectly. The florals throughout the venue added so much warmth and brightness to the space.
We also had a live painter who created a painting of our first kiss during the reception, which was such a unique and meaningful touch that everyone loved watching come to life.
We were so grateful for Breathe & Relax Events for their day-of coordination, especially Megan, who was absolutely amazing. She took care of all the behind-the-scenes details and even captured some sweet pictures for us the night before. The rentals from White House Co. Party Rentals added the perfect elegant touch to the décor. And we can’t forget the desserts from Paisley and Dash. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about them, and my husband and I still dream about our wedding cake!
All of our signage and invites was created by Tailored Tru Designs, owned by my best friend. I was one of her very first clients, and she poured her heart into every piece she made for us. From the welcome signs to the small details, everything she designed felt so personal and full of love.
She truly helped bring our vision to life and made the process so special for me. Knowing that one of my closest friends had a hand in creating pieces that guided our guests and tied the whole day together meant more than words can say.
Lastly, my dress from Your Day by Nicole was everything I had ever imagined, truly my dream gown. Every single vendor helped make our day so unforgettable and full of love. There are so many more I could keep going!

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DAY IN TWO SENTENCES?
June 7, 2025. Our wedding day was filled with love and pure happiness, surrounded by all of our favorite people. It was truly everything we dreamed of.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE? AND WHAT VENUE DID YOU CHOOSE?
We chose the Synclaire Events Venue in downtown Fargo for a few reasons. One being we used to live downtown so it’s a big part of our story. We also fell in love with how beautiful and unique each of the spaces were at the Synclaire Events Venue. After their first open house we attended, I immediately could picture us getting married there.
THINKING BACK TO YOUR WEDDING, WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AT THE VENUE?
We absolutely loved the transformation that we did from the ceremony space to the dance. With the help of all our vendors, we were able to take the second floor and make it feel like an entirely new setting and allowing our guests to stay in one place for the entire day.
WHAT'S ONE FUN STORY OR UNIQUE MEMORY FROM YOUR RECEPTION?
We had originally planned to have our first dance on the first floor of the Synclaire Events Venue just shortly after dinner but when we snuck away to see the room transformation, we knew this was the perfect time. Just the two of us, alone on our dance floor, and it turned into one of our favorite memories from the entire day.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
It’s never too early to start planning. The earlier you begin planning, the more time you have to enjoy the process instead of feeling rushed.
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE PLANNING PROCESS?
One of the most difficult parts of planning was creating our seating chart. With our guest list at full capacity, every seat mattered, and finding the perfect balance of who to sit where was definitely more of a puzzle than we anticipated!
WHAT PROBLEMS OR SITUATIONS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLANNING PROCESS?
Not really a problem but we were absolutely blown away by how much Carrie and her team at Gathered Boutique Rentals can do. Dylan and I would come up with ideas for something and even if she didn’t have something similar in stock, they were willing to build it for us.
WHAT WAS THE EASIEST PART? AND WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN?
The easiest part was working with Karissa, our wedding planner. She truly listened to everything we wanted and found a way to make it all happen. She answered every question and concern and put my mind at ease to know the day would go smooth.
WHAT DID YOU ENVISION YOUR WEDDING TO BE LIKE BEFORE THE PLANNING PROCESS STARTED AND HOW DID THAT CHANGE THROUGHOUT?
I’m going to be honest, not a lot of our vision changed from the beginning to the end. We’d like to credit our vendors for executing everything we wanted perfectly. We had some unique ideas like serving dinner family style and specific design aspects that were all made possible due to our amazing team of vendors.
WHAT WERE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES FOR PLANNING THE WEDDING RIGHT AFTER THE ENGAGEMENT?
Our first priority was the venue and our second was the photographer. We had several friends that had Abby as their photographer and got to see first hand just how comfortable and effortless she made the couples feel on the busiest day. We had no doubts about choosing Abby as our photographer.
DID YOU TAKE ANY SPECIAL STEPS TO MAINTAIN A BUDGET?
We were able to make mindful decisions and alterations when vendor quotes came in higher than we anticipated by prioritizing what parts we really wanted.
WHAT WAS THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU LEARNED THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?
Have people prepared to help you and let them know specifically what you want help with.
EVERYBODY SAYS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE WEDDING PLANNING PROCESS, BUT IT IS EASY TO GET STRESSED! ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO STAY CALM DURING THE STRESSFUL PARTS?
Start early and make a plan for when things need to be done by, especially if you don’t have a wedding planner. It can be easy to get stressed by how many decisions you need to make but if you break it down and do a little at a time it won’t seem as overwhelming.

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DAY IN TWO SENTENCES?
August 30, 2025. As cliche as it sounds the day was truly perfect. Everything went according to plan and the day was filled with the overwhelming love of having all of our favorite people in the same place!
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE? AND WHAT VENUE DID YOU CHOOSE?
We wanted a venue where everything could take place in one location and one where it was already beautiful without needing to add much to it, which is why we went with Pines Black.
THINKING BACK TO YOUR WEDDING, WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AT THE VENUE?
Having a manager on site the day of to help with any questions, changes, etc. while also allowing the freedom to let us do what we needed to do to have the perfect wedding day.
WHAT'S ONE FUN STORY OR UNIQUE MEMORY FROM YOUR RECEPTION?
Being we weren’t able to have our cat Theo there, my brother had a fathead made of Theo’s face. We didn’t realize he would be such a hit and everyone wanted a chance to dance with him!
WHAT'S YOUR BEST WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
Book the vendors as early as you can, this allows the rest of the process to flow and you can use them as a resource for which step to do next, as they have done this many times!
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE PLANNING PROCESS?
Picking colors, flowers, decor, etc. and not being able to see it all come together until the day of. You are left hoping everything looks beautiful and mesh’s well, and trust me it does!
WHAT PROBLEMS OR SITUATIONS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLANNING PROCESS?
How truly easy it was. We were told over and over how stressful it was but we did a few things each month over the course of one year and it went so smoothly!
WHAT WAS THE EASIEST PART? AND WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN?
Picking our venue was the easiest! The Pines was wonderful! Picking our playlists of songs for the DJ was the most fun!
WHAT DID YOU ENVISION YOUR WEDDING TO BE LIKE BEFORE THE PLANNING PROCESS STARTED AND HOW DID THAT CHANGE THROUGHOUT?
Neither of us had really thought about our wedding or how it would look. We just knew we wanted a day with our favorite people—so we really went into the planning process blind, which I think helped us both stay stress free and enjoy each moment of the process!
WHAT WERE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES FOR PLANNING THE WEDDING RIGHT AFTER THE ENGAGEMENT?
Our top priorities were booking the vendors and figuring out our guest list.
DID YOU TAKE ANY SPECIAL STEPS TO MAINTAIN A BUDGET?
No, we knew we wanted to stay within a certain amount but quite honestly it is very difficult even with altering or changing certain aspects. We tried to prioritize what was important to us and what was worth spending money on!
WHAT WAS THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU LEARNED THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?
Every single couple will say this but the day goes by so, so fast—take time throughout the busy day to breath, be present and realize you will never have day like this again so enjoy every aspect of it!
EVERYBODY SAYS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE WEDDING PLANNING PROCESS, BUT IT IS EASY TO GET STRESSED! ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO STAY CALM DURING THE STRESSFUL PARTS?
At the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life so we didn’t let the little things bother us and we knew the stress was temporary so why get worked up over things that will more than likely end up just fine!
WHAT WERE THE STANDOUT VENDORS OR PRODUCTS YOU FOUND THAT MADE YOUR DAY MEMORABLE?
Take the Leap DJ was hands down the best— Corey seriously made our day so smooth, and he kept the dance floor popping all night long!
Love Always Floral also did a beautiful job decorating our flowers and making the bouquets—they truly made the visions in our heads come to life.
Last our photographer, Bushel & A Peck
Photography also helped the day flow and had soo many ideas for photos, We had zero stress and knew she would take all the photos we needed and would love!

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DAY IN TWO SENTENCES?
August 2, 2025. Our wedding day felt like pure joy! Surrounded by our favorite people, we laughed, cried happy tears, and danced the night away, soaking in every little detail we’ll remember forever!
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE? AND WHAT VENUE DID YOU CHOOSE?
We chose Oxbow Country Club in Oxbow, ND. We love to golf and the venue had great indoor and outdoor space. Since we were getting married early August, we wanted a reception area where guests could be outdoors or indoors. We had a band during cocktail hour that played outside, and it was perfect! We also heard the food there was delicious and it definitely was!

WHAT WAS THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU LEARNED THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?
Be patient and lean on each other.
EVERYBODY SAYS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE WEDDING PLANNING PROCESS, BUT IT IS EASY TO GET STRESSED! ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO STAY CALM DURING THE STRESSFUL PARTS?
In times of stress, I would just stop what I was doing and focus on something completely unrelated to the wedding, and then come back to the topic later! Not everything needs to be decided immediately! Give yourself time!

WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DAY IN TWO SENTENCES?
Saturday, September 13, 2025. The wedding was an elegant masterpiece that was brought to life by a vision we both had. It was sincerely a page out of the story Bridgerton.
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE? AND WHAT VENUE DID YOU CHOOSE?
We were convinced the Synclaire Events Venue was right for us due to its timeless and simplistic architecture. The building is a white canvas open to endless possibilities of creativity. We were also drawn to the fact that the Synclaire Events Venue is a newly renovated historic building, giving a glimpse into a regal past. Once we met with Jenna, we knew that the Synclaire and its team was all in to craft a special event.
THINKING BACK TO YOUR WEDDING, WHAT DID YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AT THE VENUE?
We loved how each part of the event had its own designated area. The Synclaire’s staff were extremely friendly and eager to help with any task.
WHAT'S ONE FUN STORY OR UNIQUE MEMORY FROM YOUR RECEPTION?
We had a special moment during our reception with two couples who have 50+ years of marriage. In which both couples provided Anna and I advice on how to obtain an ever lasting relationship. Ah, we can’t forget to include the fact that our two kitties Scout and Gemini graced us with their presence in the form of their very own fatheads.
WHAT'S YOUR BEST WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
Give yourself a long enough timeline to weigh all of your options. Also, be meaningful in the choices you pick and try not to settle. It is your big day make it into what you have dreamt of.
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE PLANNING PROCESS?
As much as you’d like to please everyone’s opinions around you, remind your self’s whose special day this is. Set boundaries on what you are comfortable with and stick to them.
WHAT PROBLEMS OR SITUATIONS SURPRISED YOU ABOUT THE PLANNING PROCESS?
A situation that surprised us was coming to the realization of staying within your budget. It can be difficult to pick and choose your vendors. Understand areas to save and understand areas to splurge.
WHAT WAS THE EASIEST PART? AND WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN?
Decorating, picking out your color palette and seeing your vision come to life!
WHAT DID YOU ENVISION YOUR WEDDING TO BE LIKE BEFORE THE PLANNING PROCESS STARTED AND HOW DID THAT CHANGE THROUGHOUT?
Our wedding turned out exactly the way we envisioned it to be. We stuck to our “non-negotiables.” However, we remained flexible during the process. Stay open minded to allow for the unexpected and cut expenses where necessary.
WHAT WERE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES FOR PLANNING THE WEDDING RIGHT AFTER THE ENGAGEMENT?
Choosing the venue and the photographer.
DID YOU TAKE ANY SPECIAL STEPS TO MAINTAIN A BUDGET?
Staying within a budget can be.. INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT. But create one and honor it.
WHAT WAS THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON THAT YOU LEARNED THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?
Please make sure to try and slow down this time. The day of will come a lot faster then you think. Make sure you really soak in every moment you can. From the one on one moments you make with one another to the moments you make with everyone else there to celebrate you.
EVERYBODY SAYS THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE WEDDING PLANNING PROCESS, BUT IT IS EASY TO GET STRESSED! ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO STAY CALM DURING THE STRESSFUL PARTS?
Remember to work together with your partner and not to do anything alone! It can also help to wedding plan over dinner or drinks to keep things light and take off some of that stress that can come along with it.

We are spoiled by your sincere eagerness to help with our wedding. Not only did you all take the time and consideration to listen to Anna and I. For that we are more than thankful.

tiered cake, dessert table, etc.). Gather inspiration photos of cake and dessert designs you love, and set a budget. Once you have a clear idea, reach out to bakeries that match your style and needs. Compare their offerings, flavors, and pricing to find the best fit for your wedding.
Even if your final guest count isn’t set, it’s a good idea to secure your bakery as early as possible. Most bakeries only require a deposit to hold your date, and they typically allow adjustments to quantities and details up to 1–2 months before the wedding.
Whether it’s a small cutting cake, a tiered cake, or an elaborate dessert display, having the bakery manage delivery and setup is highly recommended. They know how to transport delicate treats safely, can handle touch-ups if needed, and will ensure everything is perfectly arranged and photo-ready for your big day.
Ask your bakery of choice about stand rentals. Most of the time, they will have stands and displays available to rent out for weddings. Renting is usually more cost-effective than buying, and the bakery can help you choose stands that will safely hold all of your desserts.
For couples who choose to serve their guests cake, using a cutting guide is highly recommended (Bakehouse 23 provides one with all of their cakes). Make sure to give the guide to the person in charge of cutting to ensure consistent, perfectly sized servings so every guest gets a slice.
