After cheering in college, coach Tera James went on to coach Pop Warner, league cheer, collegiate and all-star cheer in North Carolina and California focusing on, positive mental health, proper fitness, nutrition, technique, and power tumbling.
She founded RAS Cheer in 2004 after her heart's desire to help grow cheerleading and its positive influence on the community. Introducing the sport of cheerleading to communities that would otherwise, be overlooked.
Coach is the creative director and director of ambassador development for Black Girls Cheer. The organization has assisted with providing cheer scholarships to cheerleaders. Through the organization, she has been able to speak on larger platforms such as varsity and USASF on diversity and inclusion within the sport of cheerleading.
Coach Tera is excited about the future of the cheerleading program and is honored to be the head coach of the phenomenal Fletcher Cheer program.
Coach McCrone, comes to us with a wealth of experience and skill, with deep roots in our local community and a passion for football.
He played football professionally for the Jacksonville Tomcats Arena Football League and was 3rd in league in passing and total offense.
During college he played at University of Tennessee-Martin and Florida State University.
He Coached at Jacksonville University from 2007-2009 and at Fletcher High School 20042006
Coach has a drive to develop in players a passion for the game and the skills to match that passion. With a no cutting corners straight forward approach, he hopes to guide the team to reach their full potential.
Coach Mat broke the Naples High Schoolhigh jump record from 1969 with a jump of 6’8” on his way to being a State Championship finalist. Upon graduation, Coach Mat became a Merchant Mariner beginning a career in the Maritime industry spanning over two decades. Coach Mat has been coaching football in the community back home in Tampa and here at the Beaches since 2005.
A graduate of Orange Park High School coach Gilliland played Semi Pro football in the Southern States Football League (SSFL), for the Jacksonville Wolfpack and the North Florida Rams. He brings with him his passion for sports and developing youth in preparation for success, For FMS Coach “G” focus is Defense.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Mitch grew up loving everything football. Upon graduating from Sandalwood High, he joined the United States Marines Corps. He served almost 2 years active and 6 years in the reserves, to include serving a tour in Iraq. Mitch has coached youth football for 10 years, including 8 seasons with Jax Beach Pop Warner. This is his first year coaching for Fletcher and at the middle school level, where he coach’s O-Line. You may also recognize Mitch from around the city, where he’s employed as a Police Officer with Jax
An alumnus of Fletcher Middle, Coach Cam has been coaching football since 2015. Passionate about developing both the student and the athlete, Coach Cam is committed to getting players ready for the next stage of football and their academic careers
