Use Renewable Energy

Renewable energy could save the planet

Did you know that fossil fuels cause pollution? After years of research, scientists have developed many ways to harness renewable energy to help solve this problem

Renewable energy could stop or slow down climate change. Cars could emit less noise by being electric and pollute less at the same time! By using solar panels, we could save money and help the planet in the same package! We could utilize the heat from the inside of the Earth by using. Overall renewable energy is more convenient and helps the planet.

Wind Energy

Wind energy is a great option of renewable energy

To harness the wind, we use wind turbines, which are similar to wind mille They are tall tube-like towers with blades spinning at the top The wind turns the blades, powers a generator, and creates electricity.

Wind energy has many advantages, for example, it is a clean source of energy. That means it does not pollute the air It also happens naturally, and you can not run out of it

However, there are also disadvantages The most common one is

actually the wind itself because when there is no wind there is nothing to power the turbines It is also very dangerous for birds

In conclusion, wind energy is efficient for some people, but we still can not completely rely on it

Hydroelectric energy vs. Wind energy

Similarities Differences

Wind energy and Hydroelectric energy are similar in many ways First, they both use turbines Second, they are both fairly inexpensive. Third, they are both reliable. These are some of the ways in which Wind energy and Hydroelectric energy are similar

Wind energy and Hydroelectric energy are also different in many ways For example : Wind energy is always clean, and Hydroelectric energy can be damaging to the environment. Another example : they use different things to turn the turbines and produce electricity They are also different in the way that Hydroelectric energy is reliable But Wind energy? Not so much! Now you Know about Hydroelectric energy and Wind energy and how they are similar and different

HYDROELECTRICITY

What is Hydroelectricity?

Hydroelectricity or Hydroelectric power is Electricity generated from Hydropower.

Hydropower supplies One Sixth of the world’s Electricity, almost 4,500 TWh in 2020,which is more than than all the sources combined and also more than NUCLEAR POWER! The water is trapped in dams and reservoirs.

The water turns a turbine that mutates into Electrical Energy.

And then it gives us the Electricity that we use all over the world! But with all the Electricity that we use,the world is getting weaker…

-More information:

Water makes the turbine move. Turns it to Electrical Power. Moves through the Wires across the world.

Hydroelectricity

Problem and solution hydroelectricity

There’s a problem: hydroelectricity is super expensive to buy and to make. It's hard because you need a lot of materials and you need a nice and working place. It needs a nice and working place because you need a big spot to make a dam The dam is really big and uses a lot of materials and money to make. The dam also needs a lot of people and machines.

I think we should make materials cheaper. Maybe make smaller dams to use up less materials and money. Also make hydroelectricity less to have and use. We can also make an easier design to build. Make people have more access to hydroelectricity even in poor countries.

Hydroelectricity

How does water help generate electricity?

Hydroelectricity is not so complicated, all you need to do is learn. First the water goes into the dam. Second, the water in the dam goes down into a pipe. Finally, the water goes into a turbine. Well that’s that,it’s over Oh wait it’s not, I forgot about the electricity part, we’re NOT done

OK, let’s start. Once the water has gone in the pipe, it starts up the turbine. The turbine starts spinning. When it spins, it goes really fast and generates electricity. Now it’s actually done, no more tricks, now you know how hydroelectricity works.

Hydroelectricity

Description of hydroelectricity

Hydroelectricity is a renewable energy. That means that we can use the same things again and again. It's mostly created by dams.Dams can also be used to make reservoirs. The water of a river goes in

The dam that turns a turbine to make electricity. The fastest the water goes in city it will

create Dams can stop the migration of some fishes ,like salmon.

Another way to create hydroelectricity uses tides.

Those are one of the cleanest ways to make electricity. It´s a lot used in the U.S.A and other countries. It can give a lot of power to peoples.

Alexandre

Hydroelectricity

Dams can create a lot of energy by turning turbines

One dam can power a whole city with renewable energy.

Hydroelectricity i the 3rd primary energy source in the United States of America. There are more then 5,000 hydroelectric dams being yoused

The faster water runs down a dam the more energy it creates

Hydroelectricity is made of water rushing throw a turbine

Because of dams it can uneven water levels so the water is not the same temperature and bacteria can’t go through the dams Some dams have created a way for all the living things to do through Thos things are called waterstairs with rushing water for salmons to jump up the stairs to the other side of the dam

Hydroelectricity

Converting water into electricity

Hydroelectric energy is a plausible form of potential and kinetic energy, with the simplicity to use our Mother Earths’ oceans and seas to generate and provide electricity. One of the main sources to convert this potential energy into electricity ergo, turning into kinetic energy are dams. As said by National Geographic, “A Slovanian hydroelectric dam: is a damed river in a valley marked with agricultural fields along the flood plains surrounded by rolling hills.” That is a large dam of a natural river. There are bigger ones, but more on that later!

There are 3 different types of hydroelectric impoundment facilities to sort water into pools or reservoirs. There are also

diversion facilities, they are very unique because they do not use a dam. Instead, it uses a series of canals with water generation through turbines. The 3rd type is a pumped-storage facility this collect energy from wind, solar, and nuclear power it sores energy by pumping tons of water from a pool at lower elevation to a resevoir at higher elevation.

Now for the largest dam ever built!: (so far) The Three Gorges dam is 2,335 meters long and 185 meters tall it can produce 22,500 megawatts of powers Overall approximately 71% of earths renewable energy is hydroelectric.

Thank you, that is all!

Using hydroelectric dams

: Using dams to make hydroelectricity can affect entire underwater ecosystems. It can also harm the animals or microorganisms that live inside by cutting off the supply of nutrients upstream. Hydroelectric energy is also quite costly, so most people can't afford it for their homes. In some places, dams can prevent fish (e.g salmon) from migrating to different places. The water released from a dam can be a different temperature from the water upstream or downstream.

GOOD: Using hydroelectric dams can affect us in good ways, too For one, hydroelectricity is much safer than fossil fuels. It produces little to no pollution, and is made almost entirely out of dams and reservoirs to make clean energy All hydroelectricity is clean and very renewable, and good for the planet. It can also be used to power electric cars, which are better than fueled cars.

Hydroelectric cars

Do you think Hydro-powered cars are cool? Hydro stands for Hydroelectricity which is the energy from water, cool!

Hydroelectric cars don't release carbon dioxide, they release nitrous oxide which is a greenhouse gas Nitrous oxide helps you with P.E. and lowers high blood pressure So much information!

Hydro-powered cars are way too expensive and small which means that only rich and small families that can afford them, that is why they are so rare! But if we do not buy

ELECTRIC CARS

Electric energy is a great option for our earth. For example, electric cars put less CO2 in the atmosphere Did you know that president Joe Bieden has made electric cars a priority in 2030? However, according to a 2021 survey ,by Pew Research Center, more than half of the USA adults don't want gasoline cars to be phased out.

these cars there is going to be more Carbon dioxide in the air each day! If we want to make hydro-powered cars common we have to donate money to those companies or mail a letter trying to convince companies to make bigger cars for less Money. If cars are that small you would not want to buy them people might be sitting on the roof of the car! Remember, you can always help by walking, biking, or using a scooter instead of a car

History Of solar energy

It all started in Mesopotamia when humans started agriculture . Later Greeks and Romans used ‘’Burning mirrors’’ to light ceremony torches In 1883 Carals Fritts produced the first solar cell which eventually became the solar panel Today we use "solar canopies" so firefighters can enter In the 1200 s the ancestors of Pueblo Native Americans situated themselves in the southern-facing clis to capture the sun’s warmth.

The earliest use of solar panels were in outer space Vanguard 1 used one watt panels to power its radios . Overall ,solar panels have been useful to people for many years

Solar Panels

Solar panels They are panels at convert light into energy. They are very expensive so not everybody can affd em They can get very hot They don’t make energy at night

The energy ey make doesn't poute.Energy at is not used is turned into credits, what credits do is make your bis lower And lower bis make life easier They are so good!

Solar Panels

Solar panels were created by Charles Fritts in 1850 They are used for electricity

When the sun shines onto a solar panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel This energy creates electrical charges that move in response to an internal electrical field in the cell, causing electricity to flow In the end, the electricity is formed by the sun.

Solar panels can also go on street lights and cars. Many gadgets can be powered by solar. Solar energy is light, heat, and other forms of energy given off by the Sun The project teaches people how to drill their wells and installs solar panels at schools and community centers At the end of the day, the solar panel stops working.

Solar Energy

Learn about the solar energy

In April 1954 the scientists demonstrated Bell sola. Battery in april 1954 they powered a model ferris wheel and a small radio with only sunlight. In 1973 the united states faced an energy crisis Nations that shipped out to the United states began an embargo. Two neighboring solar power plants opened in 2015 They are named solar star 1 and solar star 2. Together they make the worlds largest solar power. It's enough power to power 255,000 houses. Through out the hole world

people are looking for new ways to create power. This comes to today on solar energy.

Solar Energy

What is Solar Energy?

Solar energy is renewable energy. That means that it won’t get used up. It won't get used up because it comes from the Sun. You can use solar energy for a lot of things. For example: solar panels on roofs to keep your house warm, or on fields to help your crops grow, for lights, TVs and much more

What are Solar Panels?

Solar panels are made of many solar cells. They are also one way to make electricity, But, how? They use the power of the Sun! Who would use solar energy to power something if they could just use electricity? Mária Telkes would! Mária Telkes used solar energy to power a modern house. She was the first one to do that! If you want to help the planet, the one you live in, then use solar energy! Good luck!

Solar panels

Hi, my name is Annabelle. And I'm going to talk to you about solar panels. These amazing things are awesome but there are problems to.Let me tell you some things about solar panels.solar panels are fun but we can improve them so much like we could make it less money because no one will buy it if it's like 1000 dollars. They could also improve the safety of the materials. Its verry tocik and is not safe. The last thing is that they should make more space for wildlife. Creatures have less space to live and soon if we keep this up they wont have anywhere to live and i think everyone knows what that means.

That's all but thank you for listening to the problems and solutions of solar panels.

Solar Energy

Solar energy is an option for our earth.

Solar energy is light ,heat and other forms of energy given by the sun.

Solar energy can be used to heat up buildings and to make electricity

Solar panels on a building consist of many solar cells. The cells capture

energy from sunlight and change it into electricityThe electricity then has to go through a device called an inventor that turns it into a form that can be used by the appliances in the building.

Schools and Solar Panels

Let’s go Solar Schools!!

In many schools in New York City, (60 public schools, to be exact) are harnessing solar technology to power buildings and engage students has become a necessity at Thomas Edison High School in Queens, a new solar installation generates enough electricity to power 65 percent of the schools energy consumption.

In order to track progress the school took frequent rooftop field trips On the roof, they helped plan the upkeep of the solar panels. The school tried to help with climate change, which can happen naturally or because of humans. These solar installations generate 16 megawatts of energy a year, which can power 2,600. Lastly I hope that more schools go solar to help the environment.

Thanks for reading!

Information found on: Newsela: NYC students learn about renewable energy with school rooftop solar panel installations.

SCHOOLS GO SOLAR

LETS GO SOLAR

When light hits a solar panel small particles in the solar panel called electrons will start to move. This creates electricity! Principa are more influenced to tell their teachers to teach it to their students. Solar panels have an advantage over the other energy sources.

It is not easy to switch to solar panels. It costs a lot of money. Solar panels take the beam of the sun which creates electricity. For many schools it is worth turning solar. They are trying very hard to make it the energy source for houses, schools and cars.

Sharks get solar powered pop up tag

Scientists are using solar powered pop up tags to discover where sharks migrate?pop up tags collect data by sticking to the sharks and then popping up to the sun. As a matter of fact the battery powered tags would die out before all the information could be transmitted scientists also learned about the daily habits of sharks

How nuclear energy effects the earth

Theideaofnuclear power began in the 1930s when physicist Enrico Fermi showed That neutrons could split atoms. Nuclear energy affects the earth by releasing nuclear gasses. There have been many accidents in

nuclear power plants it also causes pollution because of all the nuclear waste. Nuclear power is not considered renewable energy because it depends on uranium. This is a mined, limited resource .However operating reactors do not release any of the greenhouse gasses that contribute to global warming. This is how nuclear energy affects the earth.

NuclearEnergy

What is Nuclear energy?

Nuclear Energy is a type of energy. Nuclear energy is generated by splitting atoms. Splitting atoms releases the energy held in the nucleus. The most common fuel for nuclear power is called Uranium. Boiling water and pressurized water reactors are usedcommonlyintheUnitedStates.Overall thisiswhatNuclearenergylookslike:

NUCLEAR ENERGY

Nuclear Energy comes in two forms. But I will only talk about Fission, one of the two.Fission involves breaking atoms apart.

When the atoms break apart,it creates heat. The heat heats up water, which turns into steamThe steam turns a turbine and the

turbine converts the movement into electricity.

Nuclear Energy is a nonrenewable energy. It is very dangerous to work with because of so many reasons I am talking about Nuclear Energy because it’s as bad as fossil fuel in some ways What is a way you think would stop the climate change issue?

Nuclear Energy

How to make Nuclear Energy:

Nuclear energy is a dangerous type of energy and even more dangerous to make. The process of making nuclear energy is a dangerous journey so get ready. The first step is to mine your uranium Once you have your uranium you place it in a fuel rod inside the nuclear reactor.Next the rods are placed in a water tank The reason why you use uranium is because it easily captures random neutrons floating around. After you put the rods in the water it creates a chain reaction and a lot of heat which turns the water to steam. Next the steam turns the turbine which creates energy Congratulations! You just made nuclear energy but nuclear energy realeses nuclear waste which creates radiation which is bad for any living creature.Be careful!

Benefits of nuclear energy

So, we all know that nuclear energy is not the best, but it has some benefits. For example, it is one of the most low carbon energy sources. It also has one of the smallest carbon footprintandnuclearenergy is one of the answers to the energy gap. In addition it's essential to our response in climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. It is reliable and cost effective Alright, I know that I’m throwing a lot of information at you, but let me tell you

something reallycool:thesunisourgreatest source of energy it makes plants grow and keeps our world warm. But where does the sun's energy come from? Okay, so do you want to hear the answer don’t you?! I will inform you that the answer is that the sun’s energy comes from nuclear fusion. So now, do you understand why I’m doing nuclear energy? The sun wouldn’t be alivetherefore wewouldn’tbealive.

NUCLEAR ENERGY

How its good and bad

I want to talk to you about nuclear energy, how it's good and bad. Let's start with the good shall we. First things first it's clean, that means it's good for the planet (sort of),it doesn't burp out carbon dioxide and, it's way better than fossil fuel. Second, it doesn't rely on the weather which is better because in rain, snow, hail, or heat none of it will interfere. Scientists have made x-rays with nuclear energy. After all that you’d think it's all good right?

Now time for the bad. Don't get me started on all the nuclear waste that contaminants the plants. Sadly nuclear energy isn't renewable at all. It needs uranium which isn’t forever. It also is really expensive . I mean, it makes sense that splitting an atom is expensive. The last one is really bad: nukes! It's really dangerous because people die from them. So after all we talked about (good and bad) , do you want nuclear power or not?

Sea Turtles

‘’Zoe cares about sea turtles and the ecosystems’’

Hi I'm Zoe and I'm going to talk about Sea turtles and the eects on their ecosystems. Sea turtles are reptiles. They eat fish ,jellyfish, and plastics!!!! Plastics, but why did I say plastics? Because it is in our ocean. Why? Well imagine yourself walking in the park, eating a chocolate bar. After you finish, you throw it on the floor. Soon enough, the wind blows it away in the sewer gates and do you know where it goes? In the ocean. Oh no, a turtle is right next to it! And the turtles eats it for breakfast.

Another cause of… is gasses. Gasses are something toxic. It's bad for plants, trees and for the ocean. That kills animals, fish and reptiles. Sea turtle populations are decreasing, so let’s help them!

Solutions

In order to prevent this problem, try to not buy plastic bags and straws to help the turtles. Also try to not use plastic bags, use reusable bags instead. Tell your friends about it, now you are helping the whole ecosystem!!!
