Leaders Working Launches Innovative WorkforceDevelopment Initiative: FLWA2.0: Desks to Drills
Mobile,AL-Future Leaders Working, in partnership with local educational and industry leaders, is happy to announce the launch ofFLWA2.0:Desksto Drills, a new workforce development program aimed at training and certifying young adultsas Certified PermitTechnicians. Thisinitiative is designed to addressthe critical shortage ofskilled labor in the construction industry and provide sustainable employment opportunities to young parents aged 18 to 30.

DeskstoDrillsis developed in collaboration with Bishop State Community College, The City of Mobile, Build Mobile, SouthAlabama Workforce Development Council (SAWDC), and Future Leaders Working alongside support from national construction associations such asthe Home Builders Association - Metropolitan Mobile and theAssociated General Contractors -Mobile Section.
The program aims to create a robust talent pipeline by providing tailored education and training to young parents, thereby fostering economic growth and reducingunemploymentwithin the community.Thecurriculumiscarefullydesigned to equip participants with thenecessaryskillsto excel as Certified PermitTechnicians, a role that is currently in high demand.
