My Friends and FSAE Family, As FSAE Foundation Chair I have experienced first-hand how philanthropic my fellow members of FSAE are. You are amongst the most generous individuals with whom I have ever been associated. As Mother Teresa once said, “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” I can tell you, Mother Teresa’s sentiment is embodied in this organization. We have received donations of all sizes with the same goal in mind: to provide educational and professional development opportunities for our members who may not be able to afford these programs on their own. The membership should be proud because since 2002, well over a half-million dollars has been invested by our members to ensure that the Foundation’s educational and grant programs are properly underwritten. Wow, think about it - all of those donations have come from us to help our fellow members! All our investors, large and small, should be proud of their accomplishments. While I am pleased that we surpassed our budgeted contributions for 2015, I am even more excited that the number of investors grew by almost 25 percent over 2014. We increased from 145 in 2014, to 181 in 2015. This is a trend truly worth watching. “I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.” These thoughts expressed by Kahlil Gibran are fundamental to this organization. Whether your service comes from financial contributions or the donation of your time, thank you for investing in your fellow members and in the future of FSAE. I look forward to an even-better 2016! Yours in Service,

Jaime Caldwell, ACHE 2015-16 Foundation Chair Interim President, South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association

2015 by the Numbers “It was an honor to be the recipient of a 2015 Hyatt Hotels in Florida grant! I look forward to attending FSAE events each year, but with a small professional development budget, it’s not always possible. This grant enabled me to attend the 2015 FSAE Annual Conference in St. Pete and return with knowledge, great connections within the industry, and many fun memories! Thank you Hyatt and FSAE!” Amanda Wood

Think Tank The FSAE Foundation hosts a bi-annual Think Tank to contribute to the association management knowledge base. The meeting gathers a small group of association decision makers to contemplate an issue, concern, topic, or idea concerning the operation of associations and/or the association management profession. The group, with the assistance of our informed facilitator, draws conclusions and drafts a report to contribute to the association community.

“Without the Marriott & Renaissance Hotels of Florida Grant, I would not have been able to attend the FSAE Annual Conference. I made so many new connections and was able to reconnect with people I hadn’t seen in years. The programming provided insights that helped me enhance our operations immediately. I am grateful to Marriott and Renaissance Hotels for the opportunity!!” Laurie LoRe-Gussak, MBA, IOM, CAE Executive Director, Florida Disabled Outdoors Association

“I would have never been able to reach my goal of becoming a CMP without the endowment of an FSAE grant. Becoming a CMP has been a goal ever since entering the industry. Not only was I able to acquire enough credit hours through FSAE events to apply but I was also able to get the financial assistance needed to make this dream a reality. The support from the FSAE community in my journey to becoming a CMP has been incredible and a highlight of my career! Mary Malone Sales Manager, Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay
