FITNESS CLASSES AQUA Mondays at 11:15AM (February 6, 13, 20 & 27) Wednesdays at 10:30AM (February 1, 8, 15 & 22) Fridays at 10:30AM (February 3, 10, 17 & 24) This Flowers aqua fitness class is a non-impact activity designed to eliminate stress to the joints. It offers a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training focusing on increasing muscular endurance, range of motion, flexibility, and mobility.

CHAIR AEROBICS Mondays at 10:30AM (February 6, 13, 20 & 27) Get your heart pumping and oxygen flowing in this seated Chair Aerobics class. This class benefits the most important muscle in your body, the heart, with a low intensity pace and set time for keeping your heart rate elevated.

STRETCH AND FLEX Fridays at 9:45AM (February 3, 10, 17 & 24) Gentle stretching exercises for all age groups. Bands, chairs, and small balls are used in this gentle stretching class.

WATER WALKING Tuesdays at 9:00AM (February 7, 14, 21 & 28) Thursdays at 9:00AM (February 2, 9, 16 & 23) Water Walking is a non-instructor pool workout. It provides the opportunity to get the level of workout you choose and at the pace you feel comfortable. This activity increases range of motion and no stress on your joints.

YOGA Tuesdays at 11:00AM (February 7, 14, 21 & 28) Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.

AQUA ZUMBA Thursdays at 10:15AM (February 2, 9, 16 & 23) Add some splash to your Zumba with the Aqua Zumba class. This is a low impact, high-energy workout aimed at toning your muscles through the natural resistance of the water.

ZUMBA TONING Wednesdays at 6:15PM (February 1, 8, 15 & 22) If you want to focus on conditioning your muscles with light weight activity, the Zumba Toning is for you! This workout uses lightweight toning sticks and/or dumbbells to help prevent reduction in muscle mass and muscle strength while providing sculpt and tone to your body!

W E LC O M E Please welcome the newest addition to the Flowers Plantation Club Staff – Mario Pharr!

Mario Pharr earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in 2008 and Sport Management in 2016 from North Carolina State University.

He has over 10 years of experience in a fitness club working at Alexander YMCA in many different programs: Outreach Summer Camps, Youth Sports, Gym Manager, Assistant Director of OUB Summer Camp, Front Desk Attendant, etc. His extensive customer service experience includes Events Coordinator and Stockroom Manager for RAVE Catering at NC State for over 5 years, collecting health surveys for the Department of Health and Human Services for 2 years, lead receptionist at Wake Tech Community College, and much more. Mario and his wife, Nicole, reside in Raleigh, NC and have 2 beautiful daughters Madison, 4 and Morgan, 7 months.

A body conditioning routine that builds flexibility, develops long, lean muscles, strengthens endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. Emphasis is on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and oxygen flow to muscles.
