Celebrating... Our staff already have several reasons to celebrate this year! Mrs Lauren van Schalkwyk achieved another Midmar Mile-stone this year when she completed her 11th race. Evidently no slouch on the sporting front, she, together with Miss Marijke Malan, Ms Ashleigh Kromm and Mrs Henriëtte Botha [1], also achieved their Level 1 Netball Coaching qualifications after attending a three-day course in Pretoria. Well done, Mr Nick Watson [2] has been accepted for the Master in Coaching diploma programme at the Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam. This sports coaching programme comprises seven months’ mainly distance learning, with three intensive on-campus weeks. The focus of the course is on self-knowledge and self-development, giving students insight into their strengths as a coach and those of their athletes so as to improve performance. Students develop their own unique coaching style and learn how to put this into practice. ladies! Mrs Vicky Carver celebrated the engagement of her only daughter Lauryn to Craig Findlay in December 2017 - the happy couple will be getting married in September this year. The Carvers also welcomed their first granchild in October last year when Hannah Grace Carver was born in London. The stork will also be visiting Mr Marc Abbott’s home in August this year, when a new little addition is due to make his or her appearance!
