Carl D’Aquino and architect Francine Monaco were confident of nothing less than

a sensational outcome for the Miami project. “Although we have a history to draw upon, each of the homes and apartments that we previously designed were approached uniquely,” D’Aquino says. And falling in love with Miami was by no means difficult with its spectacular oceanfront views that dramatically set the stage for this warm and modern 2,200-square-foot apartment that is abound with natural sunlight. With fundamental clean lines, natural hues and expansive windows, the living area becomes a gateway of relaxation. Reflective and dynamic, creamy limestone floors are implemented throughout the home and used as a background for the unique pieces that are delicately chosen. Inspired by artisan Jean-Michel Frank, the D’Aquino Monaco team custom designed the white sofa and chaise lounge clad in a luscious Rita Twill fabric by Donghia. Far surpassing ordinary, a brass and anigre-wood screen surrounds the sofa to provide definition.

Deemed the “heart” of the apartment, “Pantower” by Verner Panton is a multi-leveled,

red-foam sofa with the dimensions of a room divider and the form of a modern sculpture that centers the foyer dramatically and beckons attention and conversation at every turn. This unique artist’s prototype, purchased at auction from Christie’s London, provides alternative seating for guests.
