Porto PORTUGAL

The second-largest city in Portugal, Porto is full of cobbled streets, scenic waterfronts and ancient buildings.

The historical core of the city has been listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site and walking along the river by the shops and cafĂŠs of the Cais da Ribeira will allow you to dart in and out of the small streets that run up the hillsides on which Porto stands. Visit the beautiful SĂŠ Cathedral and Bolso Palace that stand at each

corner of the centre and then head further out of the city for lesser known gems. Head north, past the Torre dos Clerigos to one of the oldest bookshops in the world, the Lello and Irmao. With finely carved wood decorating the walls and the ceiling, and a beautiful wooden staircase winding its way up to the first floor. The bookshop is surrounded by quaint little shops, open squares and lots and lots of beautiful churches. The University

of Porto is also just around the corner, and a visit to the institution’s Museum of Natural History is another must.

Royal Porto Bridges

A four-star boutique hotel found in the stylish city of Porto, the Porto Royal Bridges offers a wonderful location in relation to some of the most popular landmarks around.

Bolhao City Market is a great place to get a feel for the local atmosphere and it’s just 350 metres away, while Porto Colosseum is just 450 metres away – meaning you can get around the city incredibly easy. Vidago PORTUGAL

The small village of Vidago is set in the heart of northern Portugal, full of quaint local restaurants and shops, as well as the chance to explore the magnificent Tamega River. Flowing gently past the town and continuing further on through the north of Portugal, it’s a beautiful spot to stop by. A little further on, you can

visit the old Roman city of Chaves which borders Spain. Explore the old fortifications, stroll along the banks of the Tamega and over the romantic 12th-century Roman bridge.

After a day spent walking, you can retire to one of the bars or restaurants for a refreshing drink or to sample the regional favourite – cured presunto

hams. Nearby, you can visit the natural hot springs which originally made this town a desireable settlement.

The water in the springs is some of the hottest in Europe, in some places reaching up to 70°C. The region – like the hotel – is centered on a quieter pace of life with a focus on recreation and relaxation.
