MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT I hope all of our friends and neighbors up north are having a great summer. Those of us still in Florida are really enjoying the rain. It is nice to see things green again. I’m learning from people that I talk to in the park that they are unclear as to where storm shelters are in the event of a hurricane. Just a reminder that our assigned shelter is the Marchman School located at 7825 Campus Dr . Please note the hurricane instructions on the inside cover of your Grand Valley Directory. I hope we won’t have to use this facility, but at least we have somewhere to go. The rib dinner put on by the social committee was as usual a huge success. I really appreciate all the hard work they do in putting on great events and that more and more people are coming to them. By the time you read this the Farmer’s Market will be back in business as well as the hot dog venue. Be sure to put Friday at 12:00 pm on your calendar for fresh veggies and a hot dog. Terry Morrow FROM MANAGEMENT If you have any concerns please submit them, in writing, signed and dated to the Grand Valley office. All items will be addressed and will stay confidential.

The Salad Buffet turned out very well. There were plenty of different types of salads, enough to feed everyone, and even extras for the real hungry people. Thanks to Grace Atkins and Caroline Pike for the dessert. Our next event will the celebration of our nation’s birth on July 4th at 1pm. The GVHA will serve Publix fried chicken and watermelon. This is a FREE event to all members, while all others are welcome at $5.00 per person. Please bring a dish to share, your favorite beverage and your table settings. Tickets are available from the office or Ed and Jo Ann Nadeau. Deadline for tickets is June 30th at 5pm, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please see sign up sheet in the clubhouse. On August 20th, we will have our annual Ice Cream Social at 2pm. This is a GVHA event and free to all members, $2 for others. Tickets will be available from the office or from Carol McKenna. Tableware will be provided. September’s event is undecided and dances will resume in November, so keep your eyes on the Grapevine. Please continue to support our Farmer’s Market and Hot Dog Days every other Friday during the summer.
