Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a week away; it’s the beginning of the holiday season. The radio stations are already playing Christmas music, guess someone forgot to tell them it’s not Christmas season yet. The Giving Trees are up at IGA, Timberland Bank and Winlock High School, don’t forget to grab a tag and make a student’s holiday season extra special. The Winlock Village Gift Shop is open at 11:00 a.m. daily, please stop by to find all your homemade Christmas items. They offer a variety of canned goods, glass decorations, knitting and crocheting, along with yard decorations. Stop by today! The Winlock Improvement Network meets every other Tuesday evening at the Olequa Senior Center. This group is dedicated to making Winlock a better place to live. The Winlock Memorial Christmas Tree will be going up again the first of December. If you have a name you would like to add, stop by the Rowdy Rooster and talk with Carol Wallin, she is in charge of the tree and has done a wonderful job getting everyone’s names on the tree. Mark your calendars: Friday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. the Winlock High School cheerleaders will be putting on the movie Polar Express. More details to come. The next Winlock City Council Meeting will be November 25 at 6:30 p.m. This will be the last meeting before newly elected members, Eric Contreas, Lonnie Dowell, Anne Randt and Brandon Swenson will be sworn in. This will happen during the first meeting in December. If giving donations to the Rowdy Rooster, please leave them with the individuals at the food bank, please do not leave them on the loading dock. Your help is sincerely appreciated.
