I walk away from every executive weekend feeling challenged, inspired and newly equipped with relevant information and tools that I can and will apply in my business.

Fostering entrepreneurship Forty years ago, our founder and former Director of Studies recognised that there was a demand from students, in London and internationally, for an innovative form of further and higher education that would be able to foster the entrepreneurs of the future. Using his experience in higher education, he introduced a new type of educational provision that was sharply focused on business and responsive to the market. At the time, this approach was unique to our institution, and that sense of groundbreaking activity remains at the core of GSM London. We were founded on innovative ideas and entrepreneurship, and we follow the same philosophy today. We understand the importance of innovation and we instill these values in our teaching, proudly developing and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit within our students. We all appreciate that to be successful within the business world one must apply creative solutions, be dynamic and enterprising. “ The individualised support that GSM London’s tutors provided made studying a really enjoyable experience. Working full-time and studying is challenging at the best of times – every assignment you do on this programme necessitates extensive reading around a topic – but the tutors here have structured the course to suit people who work full time, and the personalised service they offer their students is invaluable. I chose this course because I wanted to look at healthcare from a manager’s perspective, but also because it conveniently fitted in with my work schedule. I wanted to gain the skills, the confidence and the experience to allow me to fulfil a long-term dream of starting my own business. I’ve not done that yet, but this programme definitely changed the way I think and increased my analytical skills. A lot of this is down to the lecturers, but it’s also to do with the other students. I had a co-mentoring study group with one particular student – we worked on the literature together and criticised each other’s assignments. It was amazing and inspiring how much we taught each other.” Dr Deschu Sahayam, Executive Master of Business Administration in Health Services Management graduate gsm.org.uk
