When Air Force Staff Sgt. Adrian Spaulding was hospitalized after an accident, his parents, Jerome and Suzanne, stayed at the Joint Base Andrews Fisher House. At the end of each day in the hospital, they looked forward to heading “home.” The Fisher House provided a place to unwind and relax, while also allowing them a safe place to stay close to their son. “To our surprise and amazement, it was more than what we could have ever asked for. Comfort. Peace. Security, direction, and friendship,” said Jerome.
For 35 years, Fisher Houses have helped military and veteran families stay together during the most difficult times by providing a home away from home, at no cost, while loved ones receive medical care at military and VA medical centers around the world.
Thanks to your help, there are more than 100 Fisher Houses operating across the United States and overseas. Since 1990, we’ve served more than 534,000 military and veteran families, saving them more than $650 million. On any given night, more than 1,400 families can now stay in a Fisher House.
Because of your support, military and veteran families can rely on Fisher House to help them stay together during a medical crisis. In 2024, 34,000 families stayed at Fisher Houses. Your continued generosity saved families more than $40 million.

FISHER H USE FOUNDATION
Fisher House Foundation is best known for its network of 100 comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. Located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide and around the world, Fisher Houses have up to 20 suites with private bedrooms and baths, and offer a common kitchen area, warm dining room, laundry facilities, and inviting living room for guest families to share.
Fisher House Foundation operates two additional programs for families traveling to support their loved ones. The Hero Miles program, which uses
donated frequent flyer miles to purchase airline tickets, and Hotels for Heroes, which uses donated hotel points, have saved $127.5 million for military and veteran families since inception.
The extensive use of medical centers by veterans and service members is why Fisher Houses are essential. Fisher Houses relieve the burden of costly hotel stays on families and allow them to focus on what is really important: being there for loved ones when they need it most
