Not even the rain could dampen spirits at Lioncourt Homes’ open event at The Hamlet. The site buzzed with visitors and lively conversations, highlighting strong demand for these high-quality homes.
Despite the weather, the launch was a clear success: over 200 applicants registered, 27 appointments secured, and several walkins welcomed. The team worked tirelessly throughout the day.
Set in the picturesque village of Leigh Sinton, The Hamlet offers 52 thoughtfully designed homes, from two-bedroom cottages to five-bedroom family residences, starting at £325,000. The development is set against the stunning Malvern Hills, providing a beautiful backdrop for residents.
Sustainability is central to The Hamlet’s
vision. Each home features electric vehicle charging points and solar panels, supporting energy-efficient living. The location is ideal for commuters, with Junction 7 of the M5 just five miles away, offering quick access to Birmingham, Cheltenham, and beyond. Worcester’s rail links and excellent road networks ensure easy travel and daily convenience.
Event highlights included three reservations already secured and more expected soon, especially with the upcoming release of four-bedroom homes. The steady footfall and engaged visitors reflected the strong appeal of this well-connected, sought-after location. The event underlined the ongoing popularity of The Hamlet and sets the stage for an exciting season as more plots are released.

In recent years, downsizing has become a prominent trend across a wide range of age groups, from retirees to young families. This shift is largely driven by economic pressures, changing lifestyles, and a growing awareness of sustainability.
Many people are seeking smaller, more manageable homes to reduce living expenses and simplify daily life. At the same time, the value of community living in new developments is being increasingly recognised for its ability to foster social connections, support networks, and a sense of belonging.
These benefits are especially appealing as people look for ways to enhance their quality of life while adapting to modern challenges. To explore these evolving trends, we spoke with Ellie Lockwood, New Homes Manager, who shared insights into why downsizing is on the rise and why a strong sense of community is becoming essential for those considering a move to a new development.

Meet Molly Poole, our New Homes Sales Coordinator based in Worcester. Molly thrives on the variety her job offers, from engaging with a diverse range of applicants and developers to visiting properties at various stages of their build. She finds immense satisfaction in helping people find the perfect home, recognising the impact where you live has on your life.
No two days are ever the same - some days are spent catching up on admin, calling applicants, arranging viewings, and liaising with developers whilst other days might see her donning a high-vis jacket and hard hat to walk through halfbuilt properties or visit building sites for apartment schemes. She also plays a key role in open events for new development launches and dedicates time to marketing and creating content for our social channels.
Outside of work, Molly loves travelling and spending time with friends and family, whether out and about or hosting dinner parties and get-togethers at home. She prides herself on
2025 has been a transformative year for the new homes market, one defined by resilience and innovation. Despite economic headwinds and evolving regulations, the sector continues to adapt, with developers, buyers, and investors all finding new ways to thrive. We spoke with our New Homes Manager, Ellie Lockwood, to capture the energy and optimism shaping the market as we look ahead to 2026.
Throughout 2025, the market has shown remarkable stability and adaptability. While transaction numbers haven’t yet returned to pre-pandemic highs, the industry is seeing bright spots, especially in energy-efficient homes and prime locations, where buyers are drawn by the promise of lasting value and comfort. Developers are responding with creativity, offering innovative incentives and reimagined products that meet the needs of today’s buyers.
A shift toward compact, affordable homes is empowering more households to step onto the property ladder, while the demand for sustainable features is stronger than ever. The digital revolution is making homebuying more accessible and convenient, with virtual viewings and online transactions now standard practice.
Interest rates remain elevated, but this has inspired both buyers and lenders to think strategically. First-time buyers are exploring new pathways to ownership, and both developers and lenders are supporting them with tailored solutions. The cost-of-living challenge is real, but it’s also driving housebuilders to find efficiencies and deliver even greater value.
her culinary skills and makes a fabulous cocktail! She enjoys running and going to the gym and has a lazy cat named Toby, who is either asleep or following someone around for attention or food.
Looking ahead, Molly is excited to continue growing her knowledge in our new homes team, hoping to take on more responsibility across new developments and make a real impact for the team. She plans to do more travelling and is currently training for the Manchester Marathon in April, which she is running for the NSPCC.

Construction faces hurdles, but the industry’s response has been impressive. Apprenticeships and upskilling are nurturing the next generation of talent, while partnerships with local authorities and sustainability experts are delivering vibrant, mixed-tenure communities. Supply chains are being strengthened through local sourcing and smarter logistics, ensuring projects stay on track.
Buyer sentiment in 2025 is best described as thoughtful optimism. Households and investors are watching policy developments closely, but many are ready to seize opportunities as they arise. Developers are meeting this moment with flexible ownership models and creative schemes that keep the market moving.
Sustainability is now at the heart of new home construction. The Future Homes Standard and other regulations are driving exciting advances in energy
efficiency, green building practices, and biodiversity. Buyers are embracing homes that offer lower energy bills and a lighter environmental footprint, and housebuilders are rising to the challenge with modular construction, smart technology, and greener materials.
As 2025 draws to a close, and we look ahead to the Autumn Budget in November, the market is poised for a dynamic 2026. High borrowing costs and policy uncertainty remain, but the sector’s spirit of innovation and commitment to sustainability point to a bright future. With ongoing investment in green initiatives and digital transformation, the market is well-positioned to capture renewed momentum in the months ahead. For those ready to act boldly, the evolving landscape offers exciting possibilities.

The story of new homes in the UK is one of elegant reinvention, a journey where the past and present converge to create living spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Today’s homeowners and architects are embracing a design philosophy that honours historical styles while seamlessly integrating modern innovation.
Ellie Lockwood, New Homes Manager, shares her insights into the revivalist trends captivating the market. These styles borrow from the grandeur of bygone eras, reimagined to suit contemporary lifestyles.
Reviving the past with a modern twist
Revivalist architecture is all about breathing new life into classic styles. Gothic Revival, with its pointed arches and dramatic detailing, channels the majesty of medieval cathedrals. Neoclassical homes, inspired by ancient Greece and Rome, feature stately columns and symmetrical facades. Renaissance Revival brings
balance and classical elegance, echoing the refined proportions of the Renaissance period.
Georgian grace and timeless appeal
Modern homes in the UK often blend design elements from various architectural periods to create a unique and cohesive look. Among the most beloved styles is Georgian architecture, prized for its symmetry and understated elegance. Think sash windows with individual panes, clean façades, and panelled front doors. Inside, a central hallway flanked by evenly sized rooms creates a sense of order and flow. Dormer windows and dual-pitch roofs, popular in early Georgian homes, add light and space to upper floors - features still admired today.
