Product Focus: Lack of FENSA Certificate Background

Outcome:

The insured was purchasing a property where windows had been replaced without a FENSA certificate. Cover was being sought to protect against Local Authority enforcement action, the issue being that they were replaced only a month before First Title received the enquiry.

Despite the time-frame falling below the standard assumptions time requirement of three months, First Title were able to offer a policy, specifically for the works of concern, subject to confirmation of the number of windows replaced.

Ramifications of Risk:

For further information on how First Title can assist you with its range of specialist cover and policies, please contact directly using the details below.

Should the Local Authority carry out enforcement action it could be costly for the insured to either get the current windows replaced with FENSA compliant units, or have the current units regularised.
