with Pastor Terrell “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:3-5

Alex Haley, author of Roots, had a picture on his office wall of a turtle sitting on a fence post. He said the picture was there to remind him of an important lesson: If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know he had some help getting there.

Haley said, “Every time I’m tempted to think, ‘Aren’t I marvelous? Look at all I’ve accomplished!’ I look at that picture and remember how this turtle — me — got up on that post.” PASTORAL STAFF

This is a good time of the year to take the time to say thank you to the ones — and, specifically, the One — who helped you make it to the top of the post. Obviously, we begin by giving thanks to the Father for all that he has done. But let’s not forget also to say thanks to those who play a part in bringing His goodness our way.

Terrell Eldreth, Senior Pastor Scott Terry, Worship Pastor

My most favorite song to sing is “Thank You.” I hope to sing it one Sunday morning in November in one of our worship services. It always causes me to remember those who have had a major roll in my life — whether they knew their impact on me or not. It reminds me to try to say thank you to those I am still able to. To those I cannot because many have already gone to be with the Lord, I look forward to saying “thank you” to them in heaven someday. Until then, I try to live with an attitude of gratitude, being reminded of their love and generosity to me that brought me to where I am today.

OFFICE CONTACT & HOURS

Their names and occupations are many and varied. Their impact on my life was diverse. From elementary school teachers and administrators, Jr. High School (I know, I know. I predate today’s Middle School phenonium) music teachers and athletic coaches who challenged me to do more than I thought I was able to accomplish, to college and seminary professors who stretched me academically and spiritually, to fellow pastors who have held me accountable, to members of the church I grew up in and the churches I have been blessed to serve as pastor, I am extremely grateful. God had used each in remarkable ways in my life.
