Cynt Marshall
Cynt Marshall is the CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, president and CEO of Marshalling Resources consulting, former senior vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer for AT&T, and author of You’ve Been Chosen. She is the first Black woman to hold the CEO role for any NBA team. Since taking the helm, her valuesbased leadership style has made the organization more diverse and transformed the culture. Marshall has made it a point to ensure that everyone’s voice matters within the Mavericks organization.
Marshall’s leadership style wasn’t formed overnight. She has had her share of hardships throughout her life, including growing up in housing projects in California, dealing with an abusive father, losing her six-month-old daughter, and facing cancer. She said that the adversity that she faced throughout her life has helped shape her into the successful leader, and person, that she is today.
Marshall is a creative, dynamic, charismatic leader who will share her insights and talents during the Soup’s On luncheon. This is a not-to-be-missed event. Cynt Marshall lights up any room or arena she is in.
DJ Poizon Ivy
DJ Poizon Ivy is the Dallas Mavericks first female team

When she’s not honing her skills, DJ Poizon Ivy is advocating for various causes and working with nonprofit organizations that enable young women to pursue careers in music, support young mothers, and address health issues affecting young women. As an international DJ, Poizon Ivy has a love for diverse music, incorporating all genres into her sets and radio mixes.
As a gift for The Stewpot supporters, Ivy has curated a special playlist of music inspired by food, meals, and being part of a vibrant community. The playlist download will be provided at the luncheon.

Sponsorships and Tickets
Instead of a traditional floral centerpiece, Brad and Christy created a limited-edition tabletop sculpture series, sponsored by the Sutherlin Martin Family, to anchor each luncheon table. The handmade bronze Otter Guides sculpture is nearly 14” tall featuring a custom “brown sugar and butter” patina. Otters are known to be resourceful and playful, and they embody the luncheon theme of creativity. The bronze sculptures are artist-signed, individually numbered, and sell for $550 each. These two otters are taking care of each other, and the pansy in between them is a physical manifestation of their compassionate bond and a reminder to care for our neighbors.
Luncheon guests will receive a ceramic bowl made in collaboration with The Stewpot artists and a soup recipe booklet, sponsored by Central Market, featuring recipes from our Dallas chefs. In addition, sponsors receive a handcrafted spoon created by Brad Oldham Sculpture. Each year, the spoon reflects an aspect of The Stewpot’s mission, and loyal sponsors have a beautiful collection.
New this year, $10,000+ sponsors will be invited to a brief post-luncheon reception at Catbird on the 9th floor of the Thompson Hotel to meet the keynote speaker and other VIPs.
