SPECIAL BEQUESTS RECEIVED IN MAY Vern Jahnke often attended worship and other events and meals here at First Lutheran Church over the last several years. You would usually see him with his good friend, Audrey Sorenson. Audrey became a member of First Lutheran Church some time ago, but Vern continued his membership at Grace Lutheran Church. A few months ago, Vern moved into Thorne Crest Senior Living where he was residing at the time of his death on May 3, 2019, at the age of 91. We are so grateful that Vern remembered First Lutheran Church in his estate plans. On May 16, 2019, we received two bequests from Vern: $ 30,643.44 — for First Lutheran Church, and $ 35,753.12 — for Peace & Power Vern had these investments in Certificates of Deposit at a local bank, with a “Payable on Death” designation with FLC and P&P being the named beneficiaries. We thank God for Vern’s good planning and friendship with us here at First Lutheran Church. Blessed be his memory.
