ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR BIPARJOY!

The IMD on Tuesday issued an orange alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coasts in Gujarat as the cyclonic storm Biparjoy is set to cross the Jakhau Port in Gujarat by the evening of June 15 as ‘very severe cyclonic storm’ (VSCS )with a maximum sustained wind speed of 125-135 kmph gusting to 150 kmph.

As the state braces for impact of ‘extremely severe’ cyclonic storm Biparjoy on June 15, Met dept said this is 4th major cyclone to affect Gujarat coast in 5 years.

‘More than 20,000 people from the affected districts evacuated so far.

Migration of 500 people in Junagadh, 6,786 in Kutch, 1,500 in Jamnagar, 543 people in Porbandar, 4,820 in Dwarka, 408 in Gir-Somnath,’ said Gujarat govt. P6

SHAH BRINGS 3 SCHEMES

WORTH `8,000 CRORE

Union Home Minister Amit Shah Tuesday announced 3 major schemes worth over `8,000 crore that would cover the modernisation of fire brigade services in all states, flood mitigation in seven major cities and prevention of landslides in 17 states. Shah also appealed to ensure there is zero loss of life due to any disaster anywhere in the country. Shah says 22 guidelines have been made, sent as precautionary step.
