PM Narendra Modi has called for efforts to increase investment in fulfilling the SDGs and find solutions to address the debt risks faced by many countries while also noting that multilateral financial institutions should be reformed to ensure that finance is accessible to those in need.

In a video message during G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting on Monday, the PM said that gender equality and women’s empowerment are crucial to achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Noting that development is a core issue for the Global South, he said these countries were severely impacted by the disruptions created by the global Covid pandemic and the food, fuel, and fertilizer crises because of geo-political tensions have delivered another blow.

PM Modi said his government has made efforts to improve people’s life in more than hundred Aspirational Districts, which were pockets of under-development.

BJP likely to get 121 to 131 seats in Maha

An opinion poll on Maharashtra by ‘MATRIZE’ agency has indicated that the BJP may get 121 to 131 seats in Maharashtra in the Assembly elections. And Shiv Sena (Shinde) faction is likely to get 44 to 54 seats. NCP may get 41 to 51 seats and Congress may get 39 to 49 seats. Shiv Sena (Uddhav) faction can get 8 to 18 seats, according to the findings of the survey. Raj Thackeray’s MNS may get 2 to 5 seats.

When it comes to the vote share, the Shinde-Fadnavis ruling alliance may get 46% votes and the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena (Uddhav) is likely to get 35% votes in the Maharashtra assembly polls.

Varanasi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Monday said India has put forward an ambitious seven-year action plan for accelerating progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which presents a coordinated, integrated and inclusive roadmap for G20 actions. In his keynote address at the G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting here, the Minister said the SDG agenda is a landmark not only in its universality, in that it applies to all countries but also in its integrity, in that it can only be successful as a comprehensive agenda.
