Need to maintain utmost vigil along int’l borders: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday stressed upon the need to have utmost vigilance along the international borders to ensure zero infiltration and smuggling of drugs and arms.

Presiding over a “Chintan Shivir” of IPS officers posted in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and National Security Guard (NSG) here, Shah said that the CAPFs should constitute a dedicated team to work on drone technology and anti-drone measures.

He said the security of the borders can be ensured only by coordination with the local law enforcing agencies and administration of a district.

The Union Home Minister stressed upon the need to have utmost vigilance at the border to ensure no infiltration and smuggling of drugs and arms, a statement said.

Uttar Pradesh: In a bid to curb crimes in the city, the Lucknow Police Department issued an appeal for people to install cameras in their homes, the police said on Monday. According to the officials, Joint Commissioner Lucknow issued instructions and appealed to the people of the city to install CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras at their residences in an attempt to bring control over the increasing crime rates. The police added that a ‘har ghar camera’ campaign was launched where police officers urged and appealed to residents to install cameras in their houses for their safety. Police said they will also engage corporators and prominent citizens from every ward.
