Register at MRC to get 100 free electricty units: Sawant

For availing the 100 units of free electricity facility in the bill, the consumers will have to get the registration done at the Mehangai Relief Camps being held across the state.

In a special conversation with First India, Principal Secretary (Energy) Bhaskar A Sawant detailed about the registration system.

So far, out of 1.25 crore consumers, around 83 lakhs have registered. The previous concession scheme has ended, while registration is necessary for the new one. In such cases, the full bill has come for the consumers who did not register at the MRCs.

Sawant also clarified that consumers will get relief from June itself. Those who will get the registered late, backlog amount will be adjusted in the upcoming bills.

With the government’s announcement, every class will get benefit in the bill but for this they have to first register in the Mehangai Relief Camp

z Consumers with one connection were issued bill for the full amount on the additional connection.

z Free electricity will be available only on one connection z If a consumer has more than one electricity connection, the benefit will be according to the number of members registered in the Jan Aadhaar card.

Bribe was being sought in lieu of land measuring and documentation

Over 61 thousand consumers have taken advantage of the amnesty scheme implemented by the Jaipur DISCOM in the month of January to recover the dues of electricity from all categories of consumers. As many as 61606 consumers have taken benefit of the scheme till the month of May. Jaipur DISCOM has given waiver of interest and penalty of Rs 31.06 crore payable on the outstanding amount to these consumers and the DISC OM has earned revenue of Rs 130.53 crore. Managing Director of Jaipur DISCOM R N Kumawat said that by December 31, 2022, 21649 consumers of regular and disconnected connections of agriculture category have deposited an amount of Rs. 64.63 crore.
