Welcome from ASHWORTH FARM & RANCH Welcome to the 2019 edition of our Fall Female Production Sale. A sincere thank you to all who have supported our program in the past, including our inaugural female event in 2017. This year’s offering comes to you once again from the top end of our program and the heart of our herd including not one or two but seven ET daughters and a flush from our lead donor and herd matron – the great KWA Miss Rock 14X, as well as two daughters and embryos from our powerful and productive donor Miss Rock 22Z. You will find many quality choices in both the Red and Black divisions, all bred early and ultra sounded safe in calf with no exposures. We have decided this year to offer a few open heifers, highlighted in the Reds by 2 powerful ET Scream daughters out of Miss Rock 14X, a Red Mountain full sib to the lead off lot in our 2017 sale, and a super sweet Red Italian daughter. Our lone Black open heifer is sired by our newest black herd bull “Hart Interstate” who has sired a very impressive set of calves with some beautiful daughters and sons that are some of the most powerful black bulls in the pen this year.

This year’s offering has been DNA sire verified as well as poll tested and coat color/dilutor tested. Bred heifers are on a full herd health program, vaccinated in the spring with Vira Shield 6 and Covexin 8 Way Blackleg and boosted with the same in the fall as well as having their first scour guard shot and Ivomec.

As I have said before, it takes a team effort to run our operation, like many other places and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family members for their devoted efforts throughout the year, to Kyle and Kelsey for their extra efforts to produce our catalog and to our valued employees, who put in some long days at peak times. Traditionally we begin our catalogues with our best individuals and this year that honour belongs to these two Raven daughters. In the past we’ve been reluctant to part with daughters of our donor females. This is especially true in the case of our herds top matron Ms Rock 14X who’s daughters have never been offered for sale until now. However, we feel the need to keep one of these special females for ourselves and were unable to decide which would be proper to part with. Would you choose the massive ribbed, blood red, and homo polled Ms Raven 13F or the over powering and stylish Ms Raven 2F. Their sire LFE Raven is a son of none other than one of breeds top females LFE Ms Heaven Sent 30X. Stacking Heaven Sent and Ms Rock 14X should result in females that will fit into the top end of any breeders herd and a very likely candidate to become a donor herself. This elegant fronted, long bodied female is bold ribbed and is as smooth moving as you could make one. Genetically this female is unmatched and possesses all the intangibles of a true matron. It would be difficult to pack any more middle into a female than that which Ms Authority 12F possesses. Though she may be moderate in her type, she certainly exhibits as much or more capacity, width and muscle as any female in the entire offering. She was born as the first calf of her Mountain dam who did a tremendous job and carries many of the same characteristics of her daughter. We feel this heifer has tons of upside being homo polled with a strong EPD profile to match her outstanding real world qualities.

Depending on how closely you follow our program you may remember this females full sibling who we showcased at Agribiton and who was in the top pair in our inaugural production sale selling to MRL. The last of this section of Mountain daughters is one that certainly could get overlooked for her age. Though she has been behind in age she has kept pace with the rest of the offering. Her dam has raised multiple highlight bulls and females. A true sale feature and the first CDI Vegas daughter we have offered for sale. When Vegas was purchased out of the Bichler operation the quality of his daughters was the main reason behind the decision. Vegas produces daughters with picture perfect udders and we feel this will be the case with Ms Vegas 252F. We had a tough decision to make when it come to deciding which female group to begin our black bred section. In the end we felt these missile daughters were simply outstanding as a set and they deserved to be at the front of the line. These two flushmates may be as intriguing as the pair of full sibs which started the catalogue, but in a black package and out of the same female that has made her mark across the breed. We have flushed Ms Rock 14X multiple times to a multitude of bulls. Sale Terms & Conditions The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Ashworth Farm & Ranch Ltd. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, Ashworth Farm & Ranch Ltd. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale, together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Ashworth Farm and Ranch Ltd., along with sale management have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and/or who has not made prior credit arrangements prior to the sale with the owners and/or sale management.

BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid.

The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - The proper Registration of Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but sale management or seller assumes no risk. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to determine delivery arrangements when making settlement.

GUARANTEE - All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Simmental Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to Canadian Simmental Association guarantee.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Sale management assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Ashworth Farm & Ranch Ltd, sale management, auctioneer, or CSA assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and the terms and conditions of this sale do not cover obligations of the two parties connected thereto.

SALE MANAGEMENT ARE AGENTS ONLY - It is clearly understood that sale management acts only as agent between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure by either party to live up to his or her obligations. Sale management does not assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of monies by either parties, and in exceptional case, any legal action will be between buyer and seller. Sale Management has no ownership of the facility and assumes no responsibility for the operation of said facility.
