Our Creator instituted the principle of stewardship in creation when He gave humanity the task of exercising dominion over the earth He created (Gen. 1:27–28). Ever since then, all people have been tasked with managing their natural resources for the purpose of advancing God’s kingdom. This is a principle that is easy to forget because we like to think of our paychecks, properties, investments, energy, and time as our own. Yet “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” (Ps. 24:1), and everything to which we attach our name and regard as our “own” belongs ultimately to the Almighty. Our possessions are just temporarily “on loan,” as it were, from God.

Not only is this the title of the song, but it is also weaved into the lyrics over and over again to put emphasis on this important phrase. God simply is a good, good father! We mustn’t forget the amazing and perfect grace that God has blessed us with knowing. We should lift God up and praise him for the remarkable things he has done for us. Today, take a moment to thank God for being such a good Father to you, your family and friends. The lyric reminds us how truly blessed we are! Thanks, Lord, for being a good, good Father!

We search high and low (and Google) for answers on every topic we can think of. At the end of the day, though, we should be reminded that only God has the answers we are truly looking for. God doesn’t want us to waste time feeling lonely, sad or depressed. He wants us to instead seek him out! He can answer our prayers, heal our wounds and lift us up to places no one else can! Many non-Christians may spend years searching for answers in worldly processions, drugs and alcohol, and other false idols. We are reminded here that God is the only answer.

This lyric might be one of the most important reminders to many Christians. Through heartbreak, turmoil and loss Christians can often lose faith in the Lord and feel they are being abandoned. Never forget that you are never alone, as God is always walking with you! God is there to listen to your prayers and wants you to turn to him in times of need. Even on your darkest and loneliest days, have your heart lifted by reminding yourself of God’s constant presence with you. In times of doubt, look back on Hebrews 13:5 that states “… I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Sometimes we forget that God has a whole great and exciting plan for us. We might get nervous or scared about the future, but we are reminded here that God knows exactly what he’s doing! Before our doubts, fears, or reservations even leave our lips God know how to sooth us and remedy our discomfort. It’s honoring to know that we have such a good God that wants to support us in our dark times. No matter what burdens our lives our filled with, God will keep his plan in motion and bring us exactly where we need to be.
