is the 12th pastor of
the historical First Baptist Church Mahan of Suffolk, Virginia. A “native son” of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the son of Rev. and Mrs. Henry and Clarissa P. Blunt of Franklin, Virginia, Dr. Blunt is a 1996 Cum Laude Honor Graduate of Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia (B.A. Degree in Religion & Philosophy), a 1999 Cum Laude Honor Graduate of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University (Master of Divinity), a 2002 Cum Laude Honor Graduate of the Union Presbyterian School of Christian Education of Richmond, Virginia (Master of Theology Degree with a concentration in the field of Ethics and Historical Philosophy), and a 2009 graduate of Howard University’s School of Divinity in Washington, D.C. (Doctor of Ministry). Closing in on almost twenty years in the pastorate, Dr. Blunt proudly served as pastor of the Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church of Windsor, N.C. for six years before humbly accepting the call in 2002 to fulfill the pastorate of the historic First Baptist Church Mahan Street of Suffolk, Virginia. In addition to faithfully serving the pastorate of First Baptist Church Mahan, Pastor Blunt serves as the President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia (youngest ever elected in state history), board member of Virginia Union University's Board of Trustees, Past Vice President of the Suffolk Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross (Suffolk Chapter), Commonwealth of Virginia’s Commission on Youth, and on several other communal advocacy organizations throughout the city of Suffolk and the Hampton Roads Area. n April of 2013, Dr. Blunt was inducted as one of the youngest members into the prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA in affirmation of his advocacy for the academy and the work of social justice. Dr. Blunt is happily married to Mrs. Brandey Lemons-Blunt of New Kent County, VA and they are the very proud and blessed parents of two daughters, Nakari Brynae and Kori Cheyenne Blunt.

is a three time Summa Cum
Laude graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan from which he holds the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and the Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling. He is a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University from which he holds a Master of Divinity and a Summa Cum Laude Graduate of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his doctoral studies at United Theological Seminary earning the doctorate of ministry degree. His achievements and recognitions are noteworthy. He has been honored as an Outstanding Contributor to Education, an Outstanding Communicator and Minister of the Year, as well as an African American Role Model by several organizations. He is listed in Who's Who in Religion and a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He serves as Senior Pastor of the Saint Paul's Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia and chief visionary for its corporate affiliates, Destiny Schools, Charisma Books and Gifts, Saint Paul’s Community Foundation, NIA, Inc. of Greater Richmond and Positive Power Media Group. He is host of the telecast “Positive Power” seen around the world at www.myspbc.org. Saint Paul’s has been noted by the Virginia General Baptist Association as one of the fastest growing churches in Virginia and as one of the fastest growing churches in the nation by Outreach Magazine. This young, progressive and forward-looking congregation for "People On the Grow" serves as the spiritual home for more than 12,000 persons and supports mission and ministry causes around the globe. Saint Paul's has acquired almost 300 acres of land with plans to construct “The City of Possibility,” a master planned community that will feature multiple residential neighborhoods, commercial, retail and office spaces, a park, an elementary school and a community life facility. Saint Paul’s has already completed Phase 1 of this development with the construction of six buildings totaling 125,000+ square feet to house its expanded ministry, mission and media operations. The Reverend Alvin J. Boone Sr. is a native of
a native of Chesapeake, VA.
Virginia Beach, Virginia, whom now resides in Elizabeth City, North Carolina with his wife Mrs. La'Shon H. Boone. They were blessed with four wonderful children; Junior Deacon Alvin J. Boone Jr. [A.J.] whom resides in Richmond, VA, Trustee Alicia K. Boone, whom resides in Virginia Beach, Jasmine & Herbert Gary whom both resides in Fort Wayne, IN. Pastor Boone has received many awards and honors and has held numerous positions among which are the following: President of the Ordination Council, Past President of Perquimans County Fellowship; Member of the NAACP; and is a Member of the Roanoke Ministerial Alliance.
He graduated in 1982 from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA, where he received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. In 1991, he received the Masters of Divinity Degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA. In 2005, he earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree and the School of Divinity’s Leadership-Award from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. Currently, Dr. Riddick has completed his secondyear residency in the Association of Chicago Theological School (A.C.T.S) Doctor of Ministry in Preaching Program where he is enrolled through Chicago Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL.
Following a successful, six-year ministry at First Baptist Church, Dendron, VA, Dr. Riddick was called to lead Gethsemane Baptist Mission, Newport News, VA in 1985. Within the first two years, he meticulously led Gethsemane Baptist Church in building a 20,000 Sq. Ft. worship and education center. In 2011, he led the church in constructing its second building, the Transformation Place. Gethsemane Baptist Mission, starting only with 200 disciples, has developed in a congregation well over 2,000. Dr. Riddick founded F.L.A.M.E Inc., an organization that equips and nurtures pastors. He has distinctively served in numerous positions, including President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and member of the Board of Trustees for Virginia Union University. Additionally, he was nominated for the Daily Press Newspaper’s Citizen Award in 2001 and received the Virginia Center for inclusive Communities Humanitarian Award in 2012. Dr. Riddick currently serves as the 40th President of the Hampton University Minister’s Conference. Dr. Riddick is certainly a voice for our time that challenges preachers to broaden their world-view and creative implementation of the preached gospel as encouraged like only he can in his first published book “Does Preaching Have a Future, A call to Join the Conversation.”
Pastor Boone & the Melton Grove Baptist Church were led by God in July 2015, to seek spiritual covering under the Rev. Dr. Dwight S. Riddick, Sr. and the Gethsemane Baptist Church, Newport, VA after the late Rev. Dr. James B. Williams, Jr. was called home to be with the lord. Pastor Boone is extraordinary man of God; a distinguished minister and has a wonderful, yet unique personality in that anyone that crosses his path in life are truly blessed just to have been in his presence.

born and raised in Hampton, Virginia. He is the only son and middle child of Gwendolyn and Columbus Thomas. After being formally educated in the Hampton Public School system, Terence continued his educational endeavors at Virginia Union University, a Historically Black College and University. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History/Political Science, he realized and accepted his call into ministry, thereby preaching his initial sermon at St. Paul AME Church in Newport News, Virginia under the Rev. Sidney W. Williams who remains his father in the ministry. As Terence continued to study, grow and mature in Christ, he enrolled in the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia and was awarded a Master’s of Divinity degree. Rev. Charla Armstead serves alongside her husband, Pastor Alvin Armstead, Jr. at First Union Baptist Church, in Richmond, VA. They are the proud parents of Aria and Alauna. Rev. Armstead is a graduate of The College of William & Mary, The University of Maryland College Park and the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. She is driven by a passion to equip and empower the underprivileged and currently services children, youth, and families at an elementary school in the city of Richmond. Rev. Armstead is an outgoing minister who has a heart for praise, worship and arts, and a desire to see spiritual principals practically applied in the lives of every believer. She has served as a Bible Institute Instructor, Youth, Singles, and Women’s Conference Facilitator, Minster to Young Adults, Dance Ministry Leader and Outreach Coordinator. Rev.
