Plant Based Dyes • Plant Dyes will age and fade gracefully. • Gentle cold wash. • Dry in shade and air. • DO NOT use strong chemicals, beach, enzyme wash, soaker. • Can be composted and returned to Mother Nature when you are finished with it. • AMA denotes AMA Herbal GOTS certified colours- ask if you wish to see their certificates • Plain dye indigo and other colours have an irregular surfacetraditionally all over bold block print/ mud resist was used to disguise this. We embrace it as part of the ‘handmade’ feel – you need to consider carefully if it works for you.
Costing… • Big question. • No standard answer… • Each plant material comes at a different cost per kilo, each fabric is a different weight per metre • Contact us and we can quote for you, when we know depth of colour and plant dye to be used. • colour@the-stitching-project.com • Note- approx 5 m is maximum length we can dye at one time.
