Australia’s major airlines Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Tiger Airways operate over 350 flights in and out of Hobart each week, to and from Australia’s major capital cities.

Most conference venues are within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and attractions. Quality transport providers are readily available for large groups. Public transport in the form of taxis, ferries and buses is readily available, including helicopter transfers.

Hobart CBD is 15 minutes (17 km) from Hobart Airport.

Delegates can also travel daily from Melbourne to Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania ferries with their car, providing the perfect opportunity for pre and post touring.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and harbour views at Brooke Street Larder on Hobart’s floating pier.

Leave the city and head to the Tasman Peninsula where you will experience spectacular coastlines, blowholes and caves, not to mention World Heritage-listed convict sites.

The day begins with a historic walking tour of Hobart where you’ll hear wonderful stories about the hard-working convicts, explorers, entrepreneurs, villains and heroes of this convict-built city.

The day begins with the team heading out on the water for match racing aboard two maxi yachts on the River Derwent. Take a turn at the helm or sit back and enjoy the thrill of the race.

First stop is Bangor Vineyard Shed where you will experience fine wine, fresh local produce, sweeping views, and a warm rural welcome.

Get to Mona via the MR-1 fast ferry where you’ll enjoy complimentary drinks and canapés in the exclusive lounge bar, and private deck of the Posh Pit.

Explore Hobart’s majestic River Derwent in the best possible way – paddling a sea kayak.

Head south to Tahune AirWalk where you will walk high above the forest canopy or glide like an eagle through a Tasmanian eucalypt forest.

Spend the evening enjoying the modern cuisine at Seagrass Long Point while taking in the view and watching yachts on the River Derwent just metres away.

For large groups, head to Glen Albyn Estate for a night to remember.

Enjoy a guided walking tour through the old convict site, take the harbour cruise to the Isle of the Dead and hear the stories of the past come to life.

The day begins exploring the beautiful Tamar River and Cataract Gorge aboard the Tamar Odyssey. You’ll see various wildlife sanctuaries, historic properties, notable vineyards, St.Matthias Church and, of course, the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

We journey north-east of Launceston to enjoy a game of golf. Barnbougle Dunes is a links golf course with breathtaking ocean views.

The dramatic scenery and challenging 18-hole championship course is among the best links courses worldwide.

The group travels out of Launceston to the Tamar Valley, Tasmania’s oldest wine-growing area and a place where premium cool-climate wines, outstanding fresh produce and awardwinning restaurants go hand in hand. Here we enjoy a fabulous lunch at Rosevears Hotel.

After lunch, we head back to Launceston for a guided tour of James Boag Brewery. At the end of the tour, the group gets the chance to taste these exceptional beers, accompanied by superb Tasmanian cheese.

After a delicious brekkie, the group heads to Australia’s largest regional museum – the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.

Here you can gaze into the cosmos at the planetarium, view the dinosaurs or bushranger artefacts or find out more about the Tasmanian Tiger.

For a unique way to experience Launceston and one of its best gourmet experiences, we jump on a bike and head down to the Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market that’s held every Saturday. Here you will savour locally roasted coffee and taste your way around the foodie stalls before collecting a myriad of premium produce, coolclimate wines, artisan ciders and home-made preserves for the journey home.

Tonight we are booked at the Country Club Tasmania’s Terrace Restaurant, where the food and wine comes across as a genuine expression of the region.

Tonight, the group heads out to Cataract on Patterson, one of the most popular restaurants among locals for a relaxed evening.

Next, the group heads to Penny Royal Adventures for the afternoon, to experience the thrill of a cliff walk as you make your way across a dozen suspended rope bridges, followed by a rock climbing challenge.

Tonight, we travel out of Launceston to the stunning restaurant at Josef Chromy Wines that overlooks a picturesque lake and vineyard.

A truly unique location for you to experience superb Tasmanian wines and fine cuisine featuring fresh local produce.

Back on our bikes, we pedal to the Design Tasmania located on the edge of City Park.

The paranaple convention centre is a contemporary conference and events venue in the heart of North-West Tasmania. The spacious and flexible venue offers modern facilities and professional staff, all within a stone’s throw of accommodation, restaurants, artisan markets, activities and attractions. The paranaple convention centre is conveniently located 9km from Devonport Airport and 3km from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal, and is in walking distance to local hotels and accommodation.

The name paranaple is a local Aboriginal word for the section of the Mersey River that flows through Devonport and into Bass Strait. The main top floor auditorium and jewel in the crown of the convention centre enjoys floor to ceiling windows that take advantage of the waterside location to provide a spectacular view of the mouth of the Mersey River and Bass Strait.

The 1.8ha Paranaple precinct is in the centre of Devonport and is the cultural heart of the city.

The UNESCO World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, located 90 minutes from Hobart, is accessible by land or sea.

CLIMATE Tasmania has four distinct seasons.

The warmest months are December, January, February and March. Autumn, has still sunny days.

Winter runs from June through August. However, Tasmania’s climate can vary greatly on any given day.

Be sure to bring a warm jacket and a rain jacket. In the cooler months, it’s best to bring clothing you can layer because even the winter sun is quite warm.

GETTING AROUND Walkable, compact cities. Buses, taxis, limousines, hire cars and ferries are readily available. Helicopter transfers are also available.
