We have been delighted to see so many of you attend a variety of training sessions over the last quarter. Your appetite for learning and development continues to be incredible.
In Q3 we received a record 197 individual requests for internal training and welcomed nearly 50 colleagues on our Induction programme. As we continue to support you in being your BEST we are thrilled to share with you our Learning and Development Calendar for Q4 2022. Our programme of learning has a clear focus to help you achieve your career goals, explore your career path and of course, support you to be the BEST you can be in your role at Tandem.
You will see over the next three months there is a jam-packed schedule of courses and programmes that have been designed to help you develop a level of competence, confidence and knowledge in your role. Some of you will recognise the topics whilst others are brand new initiatives that we are excited to deliver across Tandem. This quarter sees us launch a one-bank Induction where we will welcome all new colleagues from across the bank to attend Induction on the first Monday of every month. We have extended the Induction to three days for our colleagues in Operations before handing them over to their T&C Supervisors to embark on their Journeys to Competency. Our colleagues in Support functions will leave Induction after lunch on Tuesday.
As Tandem continues to grow and succeed, it has been a joy to see so many colleagues promoted this year. We want to support existing and newly promoted Team Leaders, alongside those who have aspirations for promotion. We are really excited to launch a brand new Team Leader Development Programme in Q4, please read on to find out more about this fantastic initiative that has been especially developed for Tandem’s current and aspiring Team Leaders. Another highlight to watch out for is the brilliant session ‘Having good conversations’ run by the effervescent Andrew Rios-Hall. A session that will really help you manage conversations with both customers and colleagues in a structured way. This session is interactive, fun and will really help you provide brilliant service to all your customers.
Some of these sessions are hugely popular and fill up quickly. Wherever possible we will add extra sessions to meet demand. How to assess candidates skills and knowledge and explore their potential as well as helping to explain our culture and our values so that we recruit the right people for the journey we’re on at Tandem.
Note: This will become a mandatory course for all colleagues who may be involved in recruiting new colleagues into our business.
Licence to Coach Helping managers and team leaders to develop your skills in several coaching models. Giving you the tools to help you or your teams overcome business issues and challenges. Coaching can really motivate you and your team, improve performance and unlock and really power potential and results.
Licence to Progress A new workshop specifically designed to help you take control of your career and progress at Tandem. Understand the importance of performance, mindset and our core values and a successful career as a result. Build a career plan and ‘path’ to achieve your ambitions at Tandem!
Licence to Perform Getting the most benefit out of performance reviews, both for your team and you as the manager. How to ensure your actions and discussions are both effective and outcome based. How to acknowledge successes, as well as areas for improvement and how to do so positively and with real action-based objectives.

Tandem's Team Leader Development Programme
The Learning and Development team have put together a bespoke programme for team leaders and identified team talent. Team leaders are vital to the success of our organisation. They are in a pivotal role dealing with teams, customers, suppliers and other levels of management. This central position puts great demand on their skills and knowledge and therefore is a brilliant and essential series of experiences for a management career. This 3 month programme will offer a blended learning approach so that you can get as much out of it as possible. If you would like to register your interest or further information, please contact the learning and development team as soon as possible. Locations will be offered to suit but numbers will be limited. Speak to your line manager and register today for this great opportunity.

We’ll also explain how you can register your interest to attend, the duration of the programme along with the location. We have colour-coded the training sessions by location for those sessions we deliver face to face. There are plenty of sessions that will be held virtually so your location won't hinder your access to learning with us. If you’ve spotted something you want to consider for your own progression and growth within your role, ensure you have a chat with your line manager and get yourself registered - it's really easy to do.
