The Story

About FinesseBridles

FinesseBridles are designed with a very unique headpiece on all the models without any exceptance. This is the only bridle in the entire world that has gone through scientific testing on a university level.

In 2020 Copenhagen University of Copenhagen founded the FinesseBridles in highly recommended for welfare while we exercise our lovely horses. They could easily measure the muscles functions being calmer and equally working on both sides with fewer pain strikes compared to a standard bridle.

Not a regular piece of EQUIPMENT

When purchasing a FinesseBridle you aren’t investing in a regular piece of equipment, you are investing in comfort. These bridles are created with a specialized headpiece, designed to distribute and reduce pressure on the horse’s poll.

The Technology

Have you ever tried fitting a finger under the headpiece of your bridle after having tightened it? You almost can’t fit a finger under there, can you??

Engineers and other experts are behind this unique design from the technology applied in hospital mattresses used for bedbound patients. It is not memory foam, but a uniquely designed fiber-material that allows the blood flow to remain intact in the parts of the body in contact with the material.

Cathrine and Cassidy were with us from the very beginning with FinesseBridles.

Cassidy was trying out some of the very first models, and Cathrine helped us with the elegant and timeless design of FinesseBridles. No doubt that this is the real Cassidy model, as Cathrine Dufour designed this for her loving horse. Together with the protection of the poll, and after scientific proof from Copenhagen University, the horse’s entire body improves with the best feeling and benefit.

HOW TO CARE FOR

YOUR BRIDLE

It is easy for you to maintain your FinesseBridles so they can last a lifetime. We take better care of our planet and the people who work in the tanning industry by using vegetable tanning.

MAINTAINING YOUR BRIDLE:

Always apply leather grease to your new bridle before using it for the first time.

Never wash with saddle soap or wet wipes. Use a damp cloth with water or leather cleaner to remove dark sweat marks.

Use leather balm or oil once a week. If your horse sweats a lot, use it twice a week. Do not use large amounts of leather grease – just enough to lightly wipe over your bridle.

If you use too much leather grease or oil, the stitching can become worn with time and damaged. This is true of all tanned leather.

Store the bridle in a dry temperate tack room. If this is not possible, make sure not to hang your FinesseBridles directly above a damp surface.

If you have been riding in strong sunlight or rain, always treat with oil afterward.

In brief, if you take care of your FinesseBridles, they will last a lifetime.

The bridle is named Cayenne after this beautiful mare. Her mother is Finesse, and she is the 3. born. Helle (CEO) has kept her, as she reminds her a lot of her mother. Big, clumsy, and very charming in her own way. She is a very challenging horse, which Helle loves about her.

FinesseBridles are hand stitched

The quality of the leather and handwork means a lot to us. We don’t want to compromise with the world to become less climate-friendly.

That is why we use the vegetable tanning agent extracted from tree bark and various plant extracts, such as many different types of bark and roots with a high tannic acid content, which softens the leather. It is expensive and takes a long time: 45 days.

However, the advantages are that we take better care of our planet and the people who work in the tanning and leather industry.

Our staff of 30 people has been stitching bridles for over 30 years and has a lot of experience. They are very dedicated to their work and have high-quality control over leather stitching, buckles, etc.

We are very proud of this team, and we make them a visit 3-4 times a year to keep in touch on the fabrics well being and to keep them updated on new small details that have been changed over the last two years.

Why HIMALAYA?

This bridle is named Himalaya after this beautiful mare. Her mother is Finesse, and she is the 2. born. Helle (CEO) sold this mare to a lovely girl in Denmark when she was two years old. They have a special bond and she takes very good care of her.

Why SPIRIT?

The name Spirit is from a Giveaway contest on our social media. We thought that Spirit was the right fit for this bridle design.

You should be careful how tight you make this dropnose, as it can be very harmful to the nerves, as they are very sensitive in the head on all horses

REINS FINESSE

All reins are made with the passion of the easy hand. They are thin and come in very soft leather to protect your hands in the best way. Some with the stops blotted and some where the stops are covered, which makes them softer to your hands. The stops help you be equal in connecting to your horse’s mouth.

You can have all the reins with silver, gold, or rose gold buckles and you can choose to have it with round stitches finish or with the flat leather, for you to match your bridle perfectly.

HALTERS FINESSE

This halter is designed with a buckle on either side to create balance. Often halters fall to the side of the buckle. This problem is eliminated in the balanced FinesseBridles halter. This makes it possible to adjust the halter on either side and around the muzzle.

The SHAPE

The halter’s shape in the neck considers the interest around your horse’s ears. The green and blue is with soft leather against the horse and with cotton colors and the yellow is in full leather.

When purchasing a FinesseBridle

you aren’t investing in a regular piece of equipment, you are investing in comfort

If you think about it, our central nervous system begins in the brain. It continues down to our lower back, where several pairs of spinal nerves control our sensory “motor” and many other body functions. It is the same with our horses, no matter the breed. All horses are anatomically identical.

The noseband YOU can control by tightening it yourself, but you cannot control the pressure from poll, as the headpiece needs to sit behind the ears. These were my thoughts and why I created FinesseBridles.

The bonus of having three people from Copenhagen University with the same curiosity and found the magnificent effects for the horses was an eye opener for me too.

Today I get lovely messages every day from all over the world, no matter the levels and breed. Vets and riders with head-shaking problems have called and told me how much their horses improved since changing to Finesse®, now they ride without the mask in the summer etc.

The funny thing is that your horse doesn’t need to have a problem feeling the benefit from Finesse®. The scientific study showed that they could measure the benefit anyway, even you as a rider could not feel the difference - but I assure, you will feel it after a couple of days.
