Help Wanted: Your library team is seeking a creative resident with a computer to serve as a back-up to our computer QB, Bev Hansen. Bev prepares checkout and file cards as well as pocket labels for all newly processed books. This takes place only three or four times a year.

The back-up team member would take on this role in place of Bev only if needed. Bev will provide the “how's” and “what's” involved. If you have a computer, please consider sharing this role when needed.

News and Notes ARE YOU A SAVVY TUDOR OAKS RECYCLER? LET’S HOPE WE ALL ARE!! There are 120 IL APTS with almost 150 residents living in them here at Tudor Oaks. That’s a lot of throw away material every day. Let’s all consider recycling as a game that we can all par琀cipate in. Like any good game, there are always guidelines (rules?) that make the ac琀vity be琀er for everyone.

THAT’S WHAT THE SAVVY TUDOR OAKS RECYCLER IS! A TEAM PLAYER WHO DOES THEIR PART TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES.

(There is no future use for those shredded papers as the 昀ber in the paper is broken down and cannot be used in any other way.

Also, the paper shreds s琀ck to other materials making them unusable too.)

Tudor Oaks also o昀ers a shredding service through Shred-it Company with a shredding machine located behind the recep琀on desk.

You are welcome to use this service to shred your CONFIDENTIAL PAPERS ONLY. This includes health, 昀nancial, account informa琀on, papers with birthdate on, etc.

Rebecca Rebe Rebecca cca “annie” “annie” Diedrich I was born in South Carolina just north of Myrtle Beach. We moved to Waukesha when I was 5 years old and live there s琀ll today. I have been married to my amazing and wonderful husband for 43 years. We do not have children but two dogs, a cocka琀el, and parakeets to love like our children. I have worked at Tudor Oaks for 40 years. I have seen it remodeled several 琀mes. S琀ll beau琀ful as always inside and out. I love the country se ng. I started in the Frances Henry Health Center as a CNA on night shi昀 while working weekends in suppor琀ve services for eight years. I switched to mornings in suppor琀ve services for many years then due to declining health of my husband, I switched back to night shi昀 as a CNA in Windsor House. I have enjoyed working one on one with the residents. They have amazing stories and each one is special. I want to thank Tudor Oaks for accep琀ng me into this community and I also want to thank all our wonderful resident and sta昀 for all your support throughout the years. I will miss all of you! Tudor Oaks holds a special place in my heart. I have enjoyed this amazing journey. Thank you all so much and God bless you all while staying healthy!!

Ques琀on: I’ve no琀ced when I’m having a conversa琀on that I can’t always get the word out that I really want to say. What can I do?

Answer: Word 昀nding di culty is commonly experienced by older adults. It’s natural to pause or stop talking when you experience this, however pausing won’t help to retrieve the desired word. A speech therapist works to teach/train individuals to implement various strategies to be琀er assist with conversa琀onal word 昀nding. These strategies can improve your ability to converse 昀uidly.

After interviews and surveys of Tudor Oaks residents, it has been determined a “name change” for this monthly publication is needed. A large number of residents feel we are more “Nutty” than “Acorn”. The transition to the new name “Nutty” has begun. Thank you all who helped with the interviews and surveys.

Experience Holy Friday from the perspective of those who watched Jesus die: Mary his mother; the Beloved Disciple from the Gospel of John; Mary Magdalene and the other women from Galilee; the two men, usually identified as thieves, crucified with Jesus; the centurion and the soldiers; Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. Jews and Romans, friends and strangers, the powerful and the powerless, the hopeful and the despairing.
