Resident Highlights Anna Rastall was born and raised in Wasco, California. Her family included 2 brothers and one sister. She loved living in California.

Anna attended Catholic mass regularly, and met a very nice woman who had four rambunctious boys! Anna and Joan, the woman from church, became very close friends. In fact, Anna ended up marrying Joan’s brother, Myron, who was from Wisconsin. Their wedding was held in California, but they moved to Kaukauna, Wisconsin so Myron could work in the paper mill. The joke in Kaukauna is when people say it’s “smelly”, they say, “that smell is money to us!”

fast, and then walked home. Myron was a very talented carpenter and would create wooden yard decorations. Anna’s job was to paint them. When she moved to Tudor Oaks, she gave all those “treasures” to her neighbor who admired them.

Anna and Myron raised their children, Charles and Elizabeth, in Kaukauna. Before the kids were old enough to attend school, Anna was very involved in their local grade school in the library and as a teacher’s helper. Family vacations focused on taking “mom” (Anna) back to Wasco, California to visit her family.

Anna’s family drove out to California every four years, and made fun stops along the way to keep the kids interested. Anna had many neighbors that became friends, and they would get together for coffee klatsches.

Anna is an avid bingo player and luckily has been able to play “creatively” throughout the pandemic. Most of the time it was Hallway Bingo, where each person sat in their doorway and the Lifestyle staff had a microphone to call the numbers. Anna enjoys visiting with people in person or even on the telephone.

Many of her Kaukauna friends still call her every week. Pre-covid, Anna was very active with all the Lifestyle programming, especially when we had student volunteer activities. Her other favorite hobby is baking.

Four years ago Myron, her husband, passed away. Elizabeth, her daughter, didn’t want her mom to live so far away, so she discovered Tudor Oaks. This works out great because Elizabeth and her family of 2 sons live in Franklin. Charles and his 2 children live in Waterford. Anna thoroughly enjoys her four grandchildren!

When the kids were old enough, Anna went Anna is looking forward to the day when into the workforce and was a cafeteria worker Tudor Oaks opens up and she can attend for 15 years. At the time of her retirement, Catholic mass and she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The go to evening beginning of her retirement was spent going to concerts in the chemotherapy and radiation. She is happy to theater. report that she is cancer free for almost 20 years!

Anna and Myron enjoyed retirement together.

They loved to walk. Once a week, they walked two miles to McDonald’s for break-

Employee Spotlight Jane Goessl Jane Goessl 1. Hometown/schooling/currently reside: My hometown is Racine. I went to JI Case High School. My husband and I have lived in Waterford since 1990.

2. Current Position: I am the new Marketing Director and just started at Tudor Oaks in January 2021!

3. What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is a steak.

4. What is your favorite movie?

I love the Christmas movie, “Elf”.

5. What are your interests/hobbies?

I love to read in my free time. We have a family cabin in northern Wisconsin and I love to spend time with my whole family. I also love watching the Green Bay Packers.

6. What are you most thankful for?

I am thankful for my family—which was recently increased! My daughter just got married in February. I am also thankful for my furry children—my dogs.

7. What is your dream vacation?

If I could go anywhere, I would love to see New Zealand.

8. Who would you most like to meet?

As I mentioned, I love the Green Bay Packers. I would love to meet Brett Favre.

News and Notes We are offering a few new classes this month! Please continue to sign up for all classes, including card playing, church service, storytellers group, men’s coffee, and sit and socialize.

The Year of the COVID I o琀 to tell you this story: She Prokop one day next to Hermann and turned on the news. We had to keep bongard up because a virus was coming. We were told to wear masks and wash our gruber hands. They ramseyed the rules down our throats. What a pli琀y.

I 昀lled up my car with gass and longed for our freedom. I missed my family, my horst I couldn’t get out to ride again, and walks around the yahr.

We were supposed to eat olson foods, not freyed, but, the huck with it, I ate everything in sight for comfort.

Poor Irene Turkowski: She moved to our wing during this 琀me, and we hardly got to know her for weeks!

Well, the COVID is slowing down, Osborn again, celebra琀ng a terrible 琀me 昀nally being over, and we will con琀nue to eat my banana fosters.

It’s a habit I got into this year.
