3 Easy Ways to Give the Perfect Gift
T
his is an exciting time at ABHM with all the re-development projects nearly complete. The communities have been transformed and today, provide the latest in senior living and lifestyle choices. However, we know there is still much to do, and with your support the growth will continue. If you or someone you know values the array of services we offer, such as memory care or assisted living, consider making a donation in his or her honor. Or make a tribute gift which is a great way to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
2 Make a gift through your estate plan—Include a
gift in your will or living trust, stating that a specific asset, certain dollar amount or percentage of your estate will pass to ABHM after your lifetime in honor of your loved one. 3 Make a gift that lives on forever—Honorary endowments can be made now or through your estate plan. Endowments are structured so that a small portion of your gift, rather than the whole amount, is used each year to fund a particular purpose.
How to Make a Memorial or Tribute Gift For more than 85 years, ABHM has provided housing and healthcare services and our ministry has continued to grow as we meet the ever changing needs of residents and families. We ask that you join us on this journey and consider one of the following three easy ways to give a tribute gift to ABHM: 1 Make a gift today—An outright gift of $25 to $100 can help fund our immediate needs or an upcoming project. The financial benefits include an income tax charitable deduction when you itemize deductions on your federal income tax return, and the possible elimination of capital gains tax.

eniors are living longer and more independently than ever before. However, with longer life comes an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Those who suffer from these diseases face a progressive decline in cognitive and physical capabilities, resulting in the gradual loss of independence and eventual need for intensive daily care. Research continues in an effort to uncover an accurate method with which to detect Alzheimer’s before symptoms begin. Many experts believe that the use of biomarkers—short for biological markers—offers one of the most promising paths to detection. A biomarker is something that can be measured to accurately and reliably indicate the presence of disease. Currently there are several potential biomarkers being studied for their ability to indicate early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. At this point, however, a great deal of additional research needs to be done in order to validate the use of biomarkers Continued on Page 2
