The village has a hotel, doctors surgery, general store, primary school, Post Office, tennis courts, bowling green, football pitch and play area. Major retailers can be found in the northern City of Carlisle approx 15 miles away. The M6 is 11 miles south and M74 is 8 miles west giving easy access to the motorway network. The nearest railway station is Gretna Green, 9 miles away.
