Upper House Farm
Stoke Bliss | Tenbury Wells | Worcestershire | WR15 8QJ
Stoke Bliss is small village set amidst glorious unspoilt countryside, 15 miles south west of historic Ludlow. The pretty Market Town of Tenbury Wells is just 6 miles away which has an excellent range of local facilities to include primary and secondary schools, a great variety of local independent shops, a supermarket, doctors’ surgery, dentist, a leisure centre and a variety of pubs and cafes.
In an elevated position off a private track Upper House Farm is a Grade II Listed timber framed detached country home retaining much of its original character with exposed timbers, fireplaces and wooden floors. Thoughtfully improved by the current owners it is a spacious and flexible home. Beautifully presented throughout, the owners have enhanced the character with cast iron period radiators, period light switches and exquisite decor. Enjoying far reaching views over the surrounding countryside the house enjoys privacy and seclusion.
Planning and Listed Building Consent was granted for the creation of a laundry room and a two storey holiday let in the adjoining garage, the laundry was completed so the permission remains for the conversion of the garage should a purchaser wish to create additional accommodation.
Approached over a gravel driveway providing ample parking and turning space.

When we first found Upper House Farm, we were drawn to its peaceful seclusion. After long, busy days in Birmingham, the drive home felt like a transition into another world—one where stress melted away. Once we arrived, the quietness and privacy made it feel as if the rest of the world did not exist.
We love the home’s quirky layout, with its two staircases and charming nooks. It is full of history, and we have worked hard to modernise it while preserving its character. The brass jelly mould light switches, cast iron radiators, and grand inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove all add to its period charm.
Since moving in, we have made several updates to enhance the home’s comfort. We rewired the entire property and installed an LPG central heating system. Just last November, we replaced the boiler, which now has a 10-year warranty. However, in the colder months, the wood-burner and Aga keep the house warm, often making central heating unnecessary. The kitchen has been one of our favourite projects, with a beautiful AGA that allows for year-round cooking, paired with timeless Shaker-style cupboards from Pineland. The bathrooms have also been updated, including a lovely en suite for the master bedroom.
Outside, we have enjoyed every season in the garden. It is manageable in size, with climbing roses and irises in spring, and a rear terrace that stays sunny all afternoon. Evenings are best spent on the kitchen terrace, watching the sun set over the valley. We have hosted countless summer gatherings in the garden and cosy winter celebrations inside, where the house truly transforms into a magical retreat.
With approved plans to convert the barn into a holiday let, Upper House Farm offers so much potential. We will miss its tranquillity, versatility, and the memories we have made here—but we know it will be a special place for its next owners.”*
