Seller Insight
We first visited the plot while the house was still being built, and fell in love with the stunning location,” say the current owners of River Fold. “Overlooking miles and miles of Warwickshire countryside, with the river Stour at the end of the garden, and an ancient deer park where the deer still roam each day, this is such an idyllic place to be. Our first impressions were that of the sound of birds and wildlife in the night and the complete absence of traffic noise. Further, as keen cyclists and runners we knew the tracks, trails and lanes of the Cotswolds lead right to our door.”
Since moving in, the owners have put much love and care into the outside space, to make the most of the outdoor lifestyle this property encourages. “We have invested in turning a muddy slope into a three tiered garden leading to a secluded river bank,” they say. “Each tier has a different level of formality down to the grassy bank and meadow along the river. The garden has lighting controlled by Bluetooth and its own irrigation pump system sourced (with permission) from the river. The view is breath-taking and each morning we are treated to a spectacular sunrise across miles of fields, often with mist rising from the river.”
Besides beautiful countryside, the local area has much to offer in terms of amenities and transport links, too. “The village has a fantastic pub and local store with such friendly people,” the owners say. “Within 15 minutes you can be travelling north or south on the M40, so we are well placed for commuting up and down the country, or for family and friends to come and see us. We have enjoyed our children finding their futures here and now visiting to share dog walks, catch up and have fun together in the huge downstairs space. The house easily absorbs all of them – it is the ideal home for everyday family life and entertaining alike.”
