Seller Insight
We all moved into No.11 Great Horwood Road September 2014. A growing family with teenage girls and our beloved dogs. Even though the house was tired and needing some love the minute we walked in it felt like a home. The dogs loved the garden, we all fell for the views.
Our girls spread their wings and left us in this lovely big house. To our surprise our youngest moved back in along with a husband, and our two lovely grandchildren and for 18months the house was filled again. We then realised this is a family home and now we are on our own again and they have moved on, we know it is the right time to downsize and let a family enjoy this wonderful house.
The house is in a lovely position; a walk up the road to the new train station, a garden centre and the local market town, plus there are many coffee shops to have a cup of tea with the locals at and really enjoy the friendly community spirit.
The house is set off the road affording plenty of parking for visitors. The living areas are at the back of the property with views over the garden. My favourite room is the Orangery, it’s so light, airy and relaxing and my husband enjoys the front room with the fire on watching his favourite channel.
The benefit of having uninterrupted views over the fields are the sunsets if the cows are not in your way!
We have loved getting the house back to its period Victorian-style with plaster cornicing and stone fire surrounds. Chandeliers are in abundance due the high ceilings. Every room is a success with paint colours and wallpaper.
Due to the house and garden size we do host many family/neighbour events. The patio is large enough for a couple of dining sets, and the children love the space to play and the playhouse with extra-large slide.
We have loved our time in the house and we will miss the character of all the rooms, but it is time another family love this house. They can enjoy the space, warmth and character. The neighbours are ready to welcome who moves in with open arms.”*
