The playing field is popular for Sunday league football matches, while on a Sunday morning you can hear the church bells ringing from the local Parish church. LOCATION Aston on Trent is an unspoilt rural village situated in the East Midlands, approximately four miles east of the city of Derby. It is situated on the north bank of the River Trent and The Trent and Mersey Canal runs between the village and the river. There are plenty of nearby public houses and restaurants in Shardlow along with the Marina. There is a playing field and park area adjacent to Shirley Park. The village has over twelve hundred residents making it a thriving village with a very active social calendar. Local amenities include the All Saints Church, a primary school, post office, village shop and two pubs are located in the heart of the village. Secondary schooling is in nearby Chellaston. Private schooling is also available in nearby Long Eaton at Trent College with a bus service from the village.
