MEADOW COTTAGE

SELLER INSIGHT

We were looking for a larger home – a substantial one - in which to bring up our 3 children and came across this part-way through the build. We already lived in North Hykeham and knew what a great place it was to live, and this house offered a country feel but with all the transport services, schools and amenities still within walking distance.”

“The house was really just a shell when we bought it having careful checked the room sizes were big enough and the orientation of the house was right – the back faces south and west – and we love the views from the front over horses in the paddocks and the landscape beyond. The owner of number 5, next door, owns the horse paddock. All 5 houses are a similar size but slightly different from each other. We love it here, it’s so quiet as the lane only serves these 5 properties.”

“We added the conservatory only 2 years ago; it is a lovely place to sit whatever time of year and in summer is perfect for opening out onto the patio which is large enough for extensive entertaining. The layout of the house is ideal as there are double doors between the living room and the dining room and again into the conservatory so we have held a lot of parties over the years!”

“If someone wanted a fifth bedroom, the second lounge would be a lovely room especially since it is close to the downstairs toilet, and the cloakroom next door could be made into a shower. It would be perfect for an elderly parent, being on the ground floor.”

“Despite the first floor occupying much of the roof space, there is in fact a loft for storage which is partly boarded. The house provides a good deal of storage with lots of built-in cupboards and wardrobes.”

“We had the garden professionally landscaped. It’s very sunny and is richly planted; there are several small trees, lots of bulbs, shrubs, perennials and climbers so it is very colourful in the summer. The Wendy house will stay. It’s set on a paved area if someone wanted to remove the playhouse and have another spot for seating.”

“It’s been wonderful walking the dogs without having to get in a car. You can go down Fen Lane and along the riverbank and walk all the way into Lincoln if you want. It takes around an hour with a pub en route; on a nice day you might want to go into Lincoln for lunch and then walk back again. We can see the cathedral from the house on a clear day.”

“We have really enjoyed living here and will be sad to move. It’s the perfect place to live with children still at school as they can be independent; it’s all very safe and accessible and, as parents, we haven’t had to provide a taxi service! There are several primary schools and 2 secondaries that are within walking distance, and our neighbour’s children cycle to the LSST closer to Lincoln.”*
