Briarwood has been our wonderful family home for the last 15 years. We have enjoyed hosting many a summer garden party in the paddock with bouncy castles and barbeques along with the winter bonfire parties . The family hub of the house is the kitchen. This is a great space to get together cooking and socializing and in summer we open up the doors onto the patio. Coming downstairs in the morning and having such pleasant views through the large glass bi fold doors onto the beautiful garden while making our morning coffee is such an uplifting start to the day. We enjoy the local walks and often walk tolunch at The pantry 8020. The benefit of school bus stops being just a few minutes’ walk from the house made a huge difference when the children were younger and not forgetting the very convenient Co-op being about 5 minutes’ walk away
The property is accessed via a gated entrance that leads to a gravel drive, which is owned by a neighbouring property but grants access rights to Briarwood and another adjacent property. A gated entryway opens onto the private drive of Briarwood, featuring a block-paved spacious reception area for parking and providing entry to the attached double garage, there is also a single garage and brick tool shed. On the opposite side of the house, there is a gravel parking area that extends alongside the garden, leading to a wrought iron gate that opens to an additional paddock measuring 0.87 acres. At the back of the property, you'll find a paved patio that can be accessed from the sunroom, living room, dining area, kitchen, and utility space. This area offers electrical connections and ample space for a hot tub, along with a generous outdoor dining space. The beautifully landscaped garden features mature borders, lush trees, and shrubbery, enhancing the home's privacy. A secret garden offers a secluded and sheltered entertaining area with paving, high walls, flowers and shrubs.
The picturesque village of Misterton lies in the far north-east of Bassettlaw and Nottinghamshire between Walkeringham to the south and Haxey in North Lincolnshire to the north. To the east of the village is the River Trent and to the west by farmland. It lies six miles (10 km) north-west of Gainsborough, on the busy A161 between Beckingham and Goole.
The village offers a peaceful and idyllic setting for residents with a village pub and the award-winning restaurant The Pantry 8020 within a few minutes’ walk. Canal and countryside walks are on the doorstep together with a Co-op (with post office), doctors’ surgery with pharmacy, take away restaurants and a veterinary practice all within walking distance. Misterton has a Primary and nursery school and is in the catchment for the highly regarded grammar school Queen Elizabeth High School. Bus stops for three secondary schools are a few minutes’ walk from the house.

This property is truly exceptional. My first impression was how attractive it looks from the outside, featuring a spacious driveway and the added advantage of the paddock having its own access from the reception parking area something often overlooked when acquiring additional land.
Inside, it seamlessly blends contemporary style with comfort. The open plan living, dining, and kitchen areas provide a modern touch, while the dedicated formal sitting room offers a cozy retreat for evenings. Personally, I enjoy unwinding in a traditional sitting room, and this property provides the perfect balance. The modern kitchen is ideal for everyday living, complete with bi-folding doors that open onto a patio overlooking the garden, making it perfect for entertaining guests.
