Biblical Flood Story Part 2 The Ark Of Salvation

Welcome to Messiah In The Old Testament. We’re in the middle of our two-part episode presenting the Biblical Flood Story. If you will remember at the beginning of our last episode, we gave you a list of some significant events that happened that led up to the point where Elohim made the executive decision to wipe from the face of the earth all living things that had the breath of life. So now, I've edited that and I've got a list of twelve things that are events preceding the actual flood.

Number One: Sin Enters The World. That’s Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. They sinned. They were punished. They were kicked out of the garden and excluded from the Tree of Life, never to eat from the fruit again. So, they would then die.

Number Two: Earth Filling Up With Violence. This was exemplified by Cain when he killed his brother, murdered him out in the field. And then violence is filling the earth after that.

Number Three: Men Worship The Starry Host. This is Maimonides's vision of the pre-flood world. He saw that men were falling away from Elohim, no longer calling on the name of Elohim. Instead, they started worshiping false gods. And the false gods he saw were the starry host.

Number Four: The Sons Of God Arrive On The Earth. These are the fallen angels who come to Mount Hermon. They swear an oath and then they go down and they take the daughters of men, have babies with them. And they started introducing evil practices and teachings in the earth.

Number Five: Nephilim Are Born To The Daughters Of Men. The Nephilim were giants and they were giant babies who turned into giant children who turned into a giant adults. They ate their families out house and home. And they started eating animals with their blood in them, which was a defilement. And then they started eating men and they started eating each other which was just a horrific thing.

Number Six: No Righteous Men Except Noah's Family. Elohim looked down on the earth, all he saw was evil. Men thought about evil all the time. All they did were evil things. There was violence and he made the decision to destroy the earth with the flood. Now, he saw [that] Noah was the only righteous man. Noah's family was only righteous family on the earth.

And then Number Seven, We already talked about that: Elohim Decides To Destroy Mankind.

Number Eight: Noah Is Given Plans To Build The Ark. Elohim reveals to him the ark. Remember, 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, 45 feet high. And we talked about the Viking Mississippi Cruise Ship which was exactly that size. And then the replica ark at the Ark Encounter in Kentucky.

Number Nine: Noah And His Sons Construct The Ark.

Number Ten: Provisions Are Placed On The Ark. Elohim told them to bring food into the ark for them and for the animals. And those provisions were enough for the entire flood.

Number Eleven: Elohim Commands Noah To Enter The Ark. He says, “Go, you and your family into the ark.” And he said the reason you are able to enter the ark, the reason you have the privilege to enter the ark is because Noah, you were found righteous in your generation. And this was a prophetic word. Noah was a type of Messiah. And so, Messiah will be known as a righteous man in his generation. People will recognize him as being righteous. They will say, “This is a righteous man. This man has no sin or fault in him.

And then finally, Number Twelve: The Animals Come To Noah And Enter The Ark. They just, in orderly fashion, came to the ark. They didn't charge the door. They just came and Noah ushered them onto the ark.

At this point, we’re able to fill in a large amount of our eight elements table. And let’s go over that, I’ll put it up real quick. The story, of course, is the Biblical Story. Our hero is Noah. The event is men are committing violence and sin. The cataclysm that Elohim is sending is the flood, and we’re going to talk about that very shortly here. The means of escape was the ark of cypress wood that was coated with pitch inside and out. The companions were Noah's wife, sons and their son’s wives. And then who is saved Noah, his wife, sons and son’s wives and all the animals. Two boxes left, the rescue and restoration. And we’re going to get to that very shortly. Then, we discussed in detail the three phenomena that were going to occur on the earth that had never been seen before. And remember, we went into detail.

We looked at the Hebrew. We looked at the meaning of the verbs and the forms of verbs. And we came up with the following scenario.

The First Phenomenon was: The earth had deep reservoirs full of water. The fountains of the deep or the springs of the deep. We still have those today. If I sink a well down 30-some feet I going to hit water in the state of Indiana. I dig down deeper maybe 70-plus feet I’m going to hit more water. And then go down another hundred or so and we’re going to hit more water. There are these aquifers that run through the limestone strata and there are big underground caverns full of water. So, we still have those fountains of the deep present under the earth today. I'm standing on some right now as we present this talk.

Those fountains burst open under pressure. The verb, remember, we said it meant to break through, like breaking through a wall. So, the water broke out and just started spewing everywhere and started gushing up out of the ground. And we didn't know whether it was just one fissure and the water came from that. Or if it was two or five or ten or one hundred or a thousand or ten thousand. We don't know how many fissures, but we do know that when the earth cracks open there's always a violent earthquake that accompanies it. And I imagine the earth was shaking quite a bit when these fountains of the deep broke open.

Second Phenomenon: We talked about the windows, the lattice-work, the apertures in the heavens that were thrown open. The verb means to throw open, like when somebody's coming to your house, a loved one you recognize. You throw open the door to welcome him or you throw open the window to yell at him and say, “Hey Joe!” That is the concept that these windows were suddenly thrown open and water just started gushing out of the heavens.

And we talked about some theories that there were dense clouds full of water or possibly a crystalline lattice of water, ice or some other polymerized form of H2O that broke apart. And the water started gushing down out of the heavens. And we imagined there was quite a noise when these windows were thrown open.

And then the rain just starts pouring down out of heaven.

Then the Third Phenomenon was: The forty days and forty nights of constant rain, the downpour.

And we also theorized that this was not just a rainstorm, but this was more of like a violent thunderstorm. Or even with all the air movements, the updrafts, the downdrafts, the circulation there were probably tornadoes or waterspouts and hurricanes. There was probably this worldwide violent storm that engulfed the entire planet.

This was the flood that was coming. Now, Noah may or may not have known about the details of the flood. You and I know about the details of the flood because it is revealed by Moses in the Torah. But certainly, all those people that were outside the ark had no clue this was coming.

And remember when the parade of animals came, we theorized that there would be all kinds of people coming to see the spectacle, to watch the animals get on the ark. and we felt there probably was a very large crowd of people surrounding the ark. So, that brings us up to today's story. So, let's jump in. Now we’re going to read Genesis 7:13-16. Inside the ark, we’ve got Noah, we’ve got animals, we’ve got provisions, we’ve got this dry and safe environment. Outside we’ve got all this violence and sin. And now these people crowding around our gawking at the animals coming in.

On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark. They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.

You’ll notice fish are missing.

But the fish are in the water and the fish, at least some of them will survive the flood. And he didn't need to keep a large aquarium in the ark.

Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark. The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.

So, now the door has been shut.

And the Hebrew phrase: Then the Lord shut them in is wíødSoèA;b hDwhy rñO…gVsˆ¥yÅw. This phrase is an idiom. The verb, if you take the three letters ס, ר rÅgDs This means to shut up, to close. And the form of the verb that used means to close up tightly.

It’s kind of like the picture of crocodile scales that are so tight together you can’t get anything between them. That's how tight the door was shut. And if you go back earlier in Genesis to the verse that talks about where God took Adam's rib to make Eve and then he sealed up his side. The word to close up or seal up his side is this exact same verb. So, it means to seal. And when I picture the ark, I picture Elohim closing the door, big side and the door is then sealed. And you probably, if you look for the outline of the door, you probably couldn’t see it very well, so tight that it was closed up. And not only was the door sealed, I think the windows were sealed. In fact, I think there probably was protection all around the ark. Because, I don't see Noah and the animals, Noah’s sons all their wives. I don't see them in the ark, huddled in a corner, screaming, frightened because of what was happening to the ark. The ark wasn't getting bashed by debris out in this hurricane. The trees were getting bashed right through their hull. And the leaks, they had to plug

the leaks. They weren’t running into the rocks or up against the mountains as the flood came. The winds and the waves didn't topple it. I mean the giant forty to fifty foot waves didn’t topple the ark. The ark was protected. The ark was sealed. I don't think God would go to all this trouble, that Noah and his sons would go to all this trouble so that the ark would go upside down for half the trip. Now, let's return to our scene outside the ark. We’ve got all these people. They are watching the animals come in and now they're standing around and suddenly the door is closed. I don't what they saw. Did they see Elohim actually close the door? Did they see angels help close the door? Did they hear the giant thud as the door was closed? I don't know.

But if you look at the phrase that we read to you, it's actually an idiom. The verb we said means to close up tight. Then Adonai and then wíødSoèA;b means that, to close behind. So, literally, it says that Elohim shut the door behind him or Elohim shut behind. So, it's like when you walk into a house and shut the door so grandma is not screaming at you, “We’re not heating the outside.” So, you shut the door. And it's the concept of shutting the door behind you.

So, could Elohim have physically walked through the door and all the

people saw Elohim enter the ark. And then after Elohim went in, he closed the door behind him and sealed it up. Very possible. I don't know what these people saw, but I do know that they had no clue what was coming. So, I think that once the door was shut that these three phenomena probably happened in very short order. We know, for sure, it happened on the same day. Because it says, “On that very day.” Which was the six hundredth year, the second month, the seventeenth day of Noah's life. [This] was when all these three phenomena happened. And that is the exact same day that the door was shut on the ark by Elohim. So, now we've got the earthquakes and the people are feeling all those tremors.

They may have been violent or they may have been not so violent. I guess it was how close was the ark to one of those seams that ripped open. The water is spraying out and gushing. And the water is now starting to fill up the low places on the earth. They probably heard that giant thunder crack and the heavens splitting open. And all the rain started pouring down in buckets. It’s like somebody was throwing buckets on them.

And the rain was probably accumulating at their feet at a fairly rapid rate. And then the storm started going. And I think these people

probably realized very quickly that they were in trouble. And they probably rushed the ark and probably were pounding on the door trying to get in, asking Noah to open up and let them in. [They were] clawing at the door, maybe getting some branches or left over tools that were laying around the ark, trying to pry the door open. But the door was sealed. There was no going back. Judgment had now fallen on the earth and everybody outside the ark was going to face the same fate. And that was death in this violent storm.

Now, since we have the ark sealed up, now that is a perfect time for me to present the Messianic Prophecies that are associated with the ark. If you remember in Episode One, we talked about types in prophecy. Types are things that… Depending on what prophecies you are looking at, we’re looking at Messianic Prophecies. So, types are people, places, things that describe an attribute of Messiah. Or describe an action of Messiah. Or describe an event is going to happen in Messiah's life, something he is going to do. So, the ark is a thing, but it is a type. So, there are several prophecies related to the ark as a type for Messiah.

The first One is very obvious: Everybody inside the ark was saved. Everybody outside the ark was condemned and doomed to a very violent death. So, the ark is symbolic of salvation. The ark as a type for Messiah

tells us that Messiah will bring salvation to his people. Now, because I'm a Christian, because I believe that Jesus already came and is the Messiah, I like to personalize these things. So, sometimes you’ll hear me say, “Salvation to me.” So, Messiah will bring salvation to me, to his people.

Number Two: The outside world, outside the ark, was violence, murder, mayhem, cheating, lying, stealing, just all kinds of evil. Cannibalism, all kinds of stuff going on. Inside the ark, none of that. Inside the ark there was peace and safety from all that violence. And then when the judgment fell, inside the ark was peace and safety from all the judgments that were falling. So, Messiah will bring us peace and safety just like the ark as a type for Messiah, brought Noah, his sons, their wives all the animals, brought them peace and safety. The same thing, Messiah will bring us peace and safety.

Number Three: Noah and his sons filled the ark up with provisions. Now, we don't know if the provisions were just a giant enormous stash of food and they had enough just because of how much they brought in. We don't know if there was some miracle that happened where the animals all just went into hibernation. That would certainly simplify things for Noah and his family. Or was it the kind of thing with the

Widow at Zarephath, where the oil kept flowing and she didn't run out. So, maybe every time they got food out of the food trough or hay out of the hay bin, that it just kept replicating, replicating, just like we see many of the places in the Tanakh. However, it happened, we know that the ark was full of provisions. We know, that the ark as a type for Messiah provided for all the needs of everybody inside the ark. So, Messiah will be our provision.

And then finally [Number Four]: Everybody outside the ark was condemned to violent death. None of them had any kind of hope for the future. I'm sure when the violence of the judgment started, they quickly realized that they had no future. But everybody in the ark, all the animals, all the people, they all had a hope and a future. Now, some of the animals would be used for sacrifice and we'll talk about that in a little bit. But the animals had a hope and a future. And so, the ark as a type for Messiah will bring us hope and a future, will bring me a hope and a future. And that is just an awesome thing.

So, I’m going to read you a quote here real quick.

Elohim shut the door to judgment, keeping everyone inside safe and secure. The seven-day period of mourning for Methuselah was

over. It was time for the flood to begin. The process of cleansing the earth from all the sin and filth in it resulted in death to every living creature on the face of the earth. Noah, his family and all the animals rode out the flood of purification cradled safely in the arms of Elohim.

So, reading on. Genesis 7:17-24. Now, this section of Scripture is divided into two parts. There are eight verses in the section. There are four in the first part and four verses in the second part. Now the first section is dealing with the actual description of the flood. Now, we know the mechanics of the flood, because we just went over the three phenomena. We know what the date of the flood, we said that it was happening on the same day as Elohim shut the door on the ark. And [we know] how the door was shut. But what we don't have is a description of the actual flood, when the waters start coming up. And this four-verse section of Scripture tells us that. Now, the second part is telling you the consequences of the flood, what happens to all those people outside the ark. So, the first part flood, second part judgment resulting from the flood. As I read the first four verses for you, you're going to note that there are two words that I use repeatedly. They are both verbs. The first word happens twice in these four verses. The second word happens four times in these four verses. So, let’s talk about the two words.

The first word is the word increased. It comes from the root hD;bår, which we know. Remember, we told you that the springs of the deep h$D;bår, many. So, it's the word that means many or much, a large entity. That was the noun version of that root. Now, the verb version of that root goes into an action. So, the action is the act of multiplying or increasing by many, like a larger quantity, a larger number of things or increasing by much s volume of things. So, when I say increase, think about expansion. Think about multiplication. Think about the explosion of the volume of water that's coming in.

The second word is the word that is translated rose and that comes from three letter root and that is rAbÎ…g. rAbÎ…g means to become greater or stronger or to prevail, like when somebody prevails in battle. It’s used in the context of let's say the Babylonian kingdom rose to power after defeating the Elamites. Rising to power, a kingdom rising to power captures that whole concept of they became stronger after they defeated the Elamites. They became greater. They prevailed over the Elamites. So, that is the essence of this word, rose. The floods prevailed. The floods became stronger. They increased in intensity. They increased in their volume. So, it goes along with the increase, of course. But rise typically, we’re talking about a vertical height. You climb the mountain.

So, you rise up above the valley. So, it can be a vertical height, and in the context of a flood, the vertical height makes sense. But there's more to it than just the height of the water. It's the strength of the water, the prevalence of the water. Think of the might and force behind those waters.

So, pay attention to those words as I read:

For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, (And that's the concept. It just kept coming and kept coming, it did not stop.) and as the waters increased (There it is hD;bår.) and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose (There it is rAbÎ…g. The strength, the prevalence, the might of the waters.) and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water. They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than twenty feet.

Now, we are at the peak or the zenith of our flood. The floodwaters have risen, strengthened, prevailed to the point where they now have covered

up all the mountains. There is no mountain sticking out of the water. If Noah looks out of the ark, he sees only water on his horizon. He is not seeing mountains sticking up in the distance. And those mountains are covered by twenty feet. Now, I have been called every name in the book when it comes to my beliefs in an actual, literal creation and an actual, literal flood and actually believing the actual, literal Tower of Babel and all the other stuff. My peers think that I'm an absolute idiot for believing anything in the Bible. In fact, I've been called, you're a blankety-blank for believing that blankety-blank Bible blankety-blank. I mean they just don't hold back when it comes to hating on the Bible. So, I generally have a response for my haters. I don't like to get into a shouting match. I don't like to you trade insults or call other people names in response to them calling me names. I don't say, Well, you're an idiot for blah blah blah. My response is just pointing out simple things to them.

And in regards to the creation, my observation is very straightforward, very simple. “Okay, I understand you believe in the Scientific Story of Creation, where the universe began, how life began. But I find it very difficult to believe that story. In fact, I think it takes more faith for you to believe that story than it takes for me to believe in the Biblical Story.” And if you want to review the Scientific Story it's Episode Number Seven. Go back and look it up. And you'll see that the Scientific Story is just full of leaps and gaps and you have to make certain assumptions and believe certain things to get from one level to the next. For example, believing that you’ve got lower life forms that suddenly leap into larger, bigger, more complex life forms who then leap into more complex [life forms].

And you’ve got the same thing with the ecosystems. That, to me, takes a lot of faith to believe that stuff. So, that is my response to creation. “I have it easy, all I have to do is believe in the Creation Story. It never changes, it’s in the Word. I believe it. And your story is changing. Every week, every month, every year there's new additions.” And as I said if you go back and look it up, Episode Seven. I said it. What I am presenting to you is going to be obsolete in short order because the story just changes so fast. My response to the flood. It is interesting when they start punching at you about the flood. They’ll say, “Well, the ark could never be big enough to fit all the animals. And what about all the species and subspecies and sub subspecies. There is never enough food on the ark to feed the animals.” And they just point out all these little things. And the big thing, and that's why I bring it up because we’re at the mountains being covered by twenty feet, they'll say, “There is no way there is enough water on the earth to cover all the mountains by twenty feet.”

So, my response to that is, “Okay, well what do you think if we take all the mountains, flatten them out. We take all the oceans and we fill them in with dirt. And we take all that water out of the oceans and now spread it out over this smooth round earth. How thick do you think the water would be, measured in feet, how thick you think would be? And they

will come back with something like a few hundred feet or maybe a couple thousand feet. But when I point out to them that the number is actually quite larger than that, they’re just like, they don't know what to say. Now, I'm going to give you the actual calculations. So, this is not just me giving you a number and you saying, Aw, well where did he find that number?” I am going to put up a graphic here.

The graphic shows you two spheres. So, on the left side, that sphere is the earth. That, we’re going to calculate the volume of the earth. And if you look below that picture, we list the radius of the earth as 3956 miles. In actuality, the earth is more of an ellipsoid. Because, if you measure that radius at the pole, either North or South Pole, that distance is 3950 miles. And if you measure it at the equator it is 3963 [miles]. So, there's 13 miles difference between equator versus pole. So, I decided to kind of split that difference. So, I use the number 3956. Now, the other issue is that, how can you assume that that everything is smooth? Because if you take all the mountains and fill into the oceans, you are still going to have a big ditch there. So, I’ll put up another graphic for you, real quick.

It's the average height and depth of land and water. The average land height above's sea level is 8005 feet. That's per the University of

Chicago. The average depth of the ocean per NOAA is -12,100 feet. And if you figure out that in feet, or in miles rather instead of feet, and then you do the proportion of land versus water, you end up with a net change of about 1.19 miles smaller. So, the earth, the radius and diameter, the earth will be that much smaller. Now you think, wow, that might make a big change. But it really doesn't because we’re dealing with such humongous volumes and humongous sizes. That change of 1.2 miles would only change your amount of water on the earth by maybe like five feet or so. So, the point is, that, it doesn't really matter about oceans versus the height of the land. So, I'm going to use 3956. I think that’s an average very good number for what the earth would be if we did that very thing we talked about. Now, on the other side, on the right side of our graph, I have another larger sphere. Now the size would be just minisculely larger, but for emphasis I made it a little bit larger than that. Now, you see the volume there. The volume of a sphere is 4/3 πr3 . So, for the earth, if we plug our radius into that formula, you end up with that whopping volume of 259,332,805,350 mi³ of earth. So, that then is our base volume of the earth. Now, if I take the volume of the oceans, which has been estimated based on satellite imagery looking at surface areas and looking at ocean mapping at the deepest and the various parts of the ocean. They haven't mapped a hundred percent of the of the ocean floor but they've mapped enough of it to know what the relative volumes would be. So, they have come up with a volume. And again, this is from NOAA. They come up with 321,003,271 mi.³ of water in the ocean. Now, if I take that volume and I add it to the earth’s volume that creates a new volume of both earth and oceans. And all I have to do is reverse my calculations to get back to the R. And that's going to get me the new radius of the earth plus the oceans. So, all I have to do is take that total that I've added together now. The 259,653,808,621 mi.³ and I just put it where volume is on my formula. So, if I multiply by three divide by four divide by π do the cube root of that number, then I come up with 3957.63 miles. That's my new radius. So, if I take that and subtract my original radius I now end up with 1.63 miles. If you multiply that by 5280 you end up with 8606 feet. Now that's quite a deep covering over the earth.

If your mountains are like Mount Everest, which is the biggest criticism. They say the water couldn't possibly get over Mount Everest, I mean that’s 29,000 feet. I don't believe that Mount Everest was that high back at this time. I think that came later when the earth was divided. And that's for future episode during the lifetime of Peleg. We’re going to get to that and you can look at my logic there. But if you had a mountain range more like the Appalachian Mountains which are 6600 feet then it is feasible that they could have easily been inundated by the waters. So, I don't know the actual depth, the height of the mountains or the depth of the water. All I know is that the waters beat the mountains by 20 feet. I’m going to put up another graphic.

And I put a flood line there. So, that's the line where the flood reached. So, you can see the Appalachians, very definitely covered up by that flood, actually by a couple thousand feet. Mount Everest, however, you wouldn't reach anywhere near the peak of Mount Everest. However, if Mount Everest wasn't pushed up yet it could easily explain it. I like to think about this picture now of the water rising, the ark floating, the covering of all mountains to a depth of more than 20 feet. This is very reminiscent of the Creation Story. The picture we had in creation, remember the wh$ObÎw ‹…wh‚Ot the chaos was in the water and the deep,

remember the deep waters. And the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the deep.

And now, we have almost an identical picture. We’ve got the deep. We’ve got the chaos of all the storms and the fountains breaking and the and the windows thrown open and all the water, the violent storms. This is probably very reminiscent of what was going on in the chaotic waters of the earth [during creation]. Keep that picture in mind as we continue our story.

Now I’m going to read on:

Every living thing that moved on the earth perished birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind.

They didn’t crawl up on top of the highest mountain and survive. They were 20 feet underwater. They didn't, the birds didn’t perch on the top of the ark and survive. They all died. The violence of the storm was so much that all died.

Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died. Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; (just like Elohim said he would do) men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark. The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.

So, if you're doing some calculations, the flood went on for 40 days and then the receding of the flood a hundred and fifty days. So, that's a hundred and ten additional days. So, it took three times as long for the flood to recede as it did for the flood to occur.

Now Genesis 8:1-14, and I’m going to read that now. And this is the part where the waters start receding.

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock that were with him in the ark (God remembered everybody in the ark) and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

Now the phrase that said that Elohim sent a wind over the earth is as follows.

Here it is in the Hebrew it says X®r$DaDh_lAo ‹Aj…w‹r My¶IhølTa r°EbSoÅ¥yÅw

This phrase literally says that Elohim caused to pass over, pass through. The verb there the three-letter root is o b r and its rAbDo which means to pass over or pass through.

So, and it's in the causative form, so it says Elohim caused Aj…w‹r which is wind or also the word for the spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God. He caused the wind to go over the earth. It was because the wind was going over the earth, covering the earth, traversing the earth that the waters started receding and going down. And again, I harken back to the picture of creation, where you have tRpRjårVm My$IhølTa Aj…wêrw hovering over the deep waters, bringing order out of chaos. I see the Holy Spirit doing the same thing and pushing the waters down, causing the waters to recede, pushing all the waters back into those deep reservoirs, clearing the flooded earth and putting everything back into order. So that, when the ark is opened and everybody comes out, everything is again back in order.

And I also envision that that Elohim would be very capable of bringing all the plant life on the earth back. And the grasses and the shrubs and the seed-bearing seed, trees and plants that could all be grown up.

Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.

So, the three phenomena, the springs breaking open, floodgates thrown open and the storms, all of this now stopped. And I think it stopped at the end of those forty days and forty nights.

The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

Now present-day Ararat is a series of mountains. The tallest peak is 16,854 feet. It is a volcano and it has erupted throughout the millennia. It has increased in size. I don't know how tall it was at the time of the flood, but they ran aground on Ararat, one of the mountains of Ararat.

The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible. After forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him. By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

So, now we can fill in the next box in our flood elements. And I’m going to put that up real quick. The box is the rescue. The rescue of Noah and all his companions came from the Aj…w‹r blowing, moving over the earth. Kind of like the Holy Spirit hovering over the chaotic waters, and the flood subsides. So, now the flood is over. There is a new world growing up outside. We know that there is a least an olive tree out there. But I believe that Elohim was causing all the plants that had been underwater to come back and start growing, the grass, the shrubs, the trees. So that,

there would be food for the animals and food for Noah and his family once they came out of the ark. So, now you have finished up our story.

In Genesis 8:5-9 it was time for everybody to disembark from the ark.

Then God said to Noah, “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you.

Now, you will notice that going in they all came to him and entered the ark themselves. And they were probably sorted by size, the elephants and hippos and rhinos were in the bottom deck and then the lighter animals as they go up to create ballast. But coming out it says you Noah bring them out. So, Noah escorted them out of the ark.

The birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number upon it.” So, Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds everything that moves on the earth came out of the ark, one kind after another.

So again, it was an orderly disembarkment from the ark. They all were sent out one kind after another. Not all at the same time. They didn't rush the door and try to crawl over each other to get out of the ark just like they didn't coming in. Noah escorted them in an orderly fashion. They had plenty of time to go out and find their place in the earth

Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:

Very important, Noah made an altar. He sacrificed the clean animals that Elohim specifically told him to take, the extra animals for just this occasion. But it was the sacrifice. It was Noah's obedience to build the ark and sacrifice the . He could have bypassed that step, it would've been a disaster, but he was obedient. And here's what the LORD said in response to Noah's obedience and his sacrifice that he made:

“Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”

So, yay! We can fill in our final box. I’ll put it up real quick. The restoration comes from Noah's family and animals leaving the ark in an orderly fashion, going out into this world now, which is growing up into a lush green paradise. So, they can go out and repopulate the earth.

Noah was a type of Messiah when he sacrificed the clean animals to Elohim. And it was because of that sacrifice that Elohim said, “Oh! What a pleasing aroma!” And he pivoted from judgment and death and destruction to promise and hope. And he gave Noah and his family and all the animals, he gave them these promises.

Number One: Never again will I curse the ground

Number Two: Never again will I destroy all the living creatures on the earth

Number Three: As long as the earth exists, years, seasons, days will continue. So, no matter how evil man became, now Elohim guaranteed a path for his survival. So, this now opens the way for Messiah and Messiah’s Line through Noah and one of his sons. And we will figure that out next episode, which one Messiah was coming through. We still have three candidates as of this verse that we just finished. And the Line of Messiah was going to continue down through the generations. And it was because of Noah's actions, building the ark, saving all mankind that this could happen. And this is, yes indeed, is a Messianic Prophecy. So now, let's go over all the prophecies. We will include the prophecy from our last episode. So, here they are in order.

Number One: Elohim found Noah, who is a type of Messiah, righteous in his generation. So, it will be with Messiah. Elohim will find him righteous in his own generation. And I said, people will say of Messiah that he is truly a righteous man, that no sin or fault would be found in him. This was Genesis 7:1.

Prophecy Number Two: The ark as a type representing Messiah. He will provide us with salvation from sin through his redemptive act. Messiah will bring all of us salvation. This is Genesis 7:1-24

Number Three: The Ark as a type representing Messiah. He will provide us protection and safety from sin, violence and judgment. This is Genesis 7:1-24.

Number Four: The ark as a type representing Messiah. He will provide us with provision and supply. He will supply our every need. This is Genesis 7:1-24.

Number Five: The ark was a type representing Messiah. He will provide for us a hope for the future. Genesis 7:1-24.

Number Six: Noah as a type of Messiah sacrificed to Elohim. And through his act of obedience and worship brought protection to the earth, animals and mankind from future worldwide judgment. We have the promise even today that years, season, months, days will continue as long as the earth endures. Man will continue, even if he is evil, even if he is acting out, even if there is murder, mayhem, death, destruction. Man will continue, the earth will continue until the final judgment where the earth disappears and the new earth and heaven replaced it.

Number Seven: Noah provided a way forward for Messiah to come through his seed. The righteous line would continue unbroken. Bringing Noah and his sons through the flood kept the messianic line going. This is Genesis 7:1-8:22.

So, here we go. Seven prophecies just from the flood itself and the ark. Combine that with all the prophecies we had in the run-up to the ark. It’s just, as I said, it's just an explosion of Messianic Prophecy. And we’re going to see this happen over and over again in the Tanakh. There are certain things that happened where the Messianic Prophecies just explode. So, in our next episode, we’re going to pick up the story and we’re going to talk about the offspring of Noah. And we’re going to talk about what is going to change in the earth. Because there's a huge change that's coming. If you recall back in early Genesis, man was given plants to eat. He had fruit trees. He had every fruit tree that was pleasing to the eye, good for food. But now things are about to change. And we’re going to talk about the lifeblood and what that means. So, join us next time as we delve into these Messianic Prophecies.

Thank you for watching our show today. We hope that you enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Now, after watching this episode you might be saying to yourself, “Who is this Messiah that Dr. Smith is talking about?

Is he talking about the Christian Messiah? Is he talking about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary. And then lived a blameless and holy life on the earth, And then was tortured and crucified. And after he died he then was resurrected from the dead after three days. Then after people witnessed this, he was then taken up bodily by Elohim into heaven from the Mount of Olives.

Or is Dr. Smith talking about the Muslim prophet Isa. Isa Ibn Maryam, the messenger, who was sent by Allah to bring a message to the people. The Quran says he that lived a holy and blameless life, was born of the virgin Mary. He fulfilled all the Jewish prophecies in exact accordance. But one difference, instead of being crucified, he then was taken up by Allah into heaven before the Romans laid hands on him. And he awaits there now in the fourth heaven where at the end of days at the day of judgment he will be revealed to all.

Or is Dr. Smith talking about the Jewish Messiah? The Messiah who has not yet been revealed, that the entire Jewish world is waiting for his revelation. Now, the beautiful thing is that you can hold to any of these beliefs. And we can all still learn together about Messiah. We can learn about our Christian Messiah. We can learn about our Jewish Messiah. We can learn about our Muslim prophet Isa who will be revealed. It doesn’t matter what you believe. You can even be an atheist or agnostic and still learn from this program about Messiah. Now, I have to admit I am a Christian so I approach things, obviously, from a Christian point of view. And I promise you, as we reveal these prophecies, which I believe have all been fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Or will be fulfilled when he comes back, returning in the clouds in the same way he was taken up. I believe that all of this is true, but I promise you I will do my very best to present these prophecies from a neutral point of view. And try to keep my Christian bias to a minimum. Obviously, it will pop up from time to time but I will try to stay only in the Tanakh and try not to get into the New Testament very often. Now, if you want more information about Messiah, we have resources for you.

We have a website which is findingmessiah.org. Now, on that website you are going to find several resources. You will find links to all the videos, all the episodes that we have created so far. You will find links to download the transcripts of any of these episodes. And then you will find a section where you can get more information about Messiah through frequently asked questions. And then there is a section for donation. If you want to come alongside our ministry at Finding Messiah.

Now, there’s going to come a time in this series where you are going to be confronted with the question: What are you going to do with Messiah? Who do you believe Messiah is? Which of these Messiahs do you believe Dr. Smith is talking about? And Messiah will become real to you if you look at all the information presented and come to your conclusions. So, join us as we continue our journey through the Old Testament Scriptures looking for all the Messianic Prophecies. And join us next time as we reveal those to you.
