Film Fest Gent & UGent 10:00 • Kinepolis • NL Proffen ruilen tijdens de Film Fest UGent Ochtendsessies het auditorium in voor de cinemazaal voor een publieke les. Na een inleiding volgt een film die aansluit bij hun vakgebied en een nabespreking. De ochtendsessies bestaan uit een korte inleiding, de filmvertoning en een nabespreking. Zo komen Dr. Jono van Belle en Dr. Lennert Soberon op 10 oktober langs bij ‘El Espíritu de la Colmena’ (p. 108) en komt professor Daniël Biltereyst op 15 oktober tekst en uitleg geven bij ‘Viridiana’ (p. 107). During Film Fest Gent, professors from the University of Ghent will exchange their lecture halls for screening rooms to talk about films. All morning sessions consist of an introduction, the screening of a film and a discussion afterwards. Inzamelactie CRIG Samen met de première van All of Us organiseert Film Fest Gent een inzamelactie* voor het Cancer Research Institute Ghent (CRIG). Eén op de drie mannen en één op de vier vrouwen in België krijgt een kankerdiagnose vóór zijn of haar 75ste verjaardag. Hoewel kankeronderzoekers de voorbije decennia belangrijke successen hebben geboekt, zijn de mechanismen achter het ontstaan van kanker en de ontwikkeling van de ziekte nog niet volledig ontrafeld. Onderzoekers staan nog steeds voor grote uitdagingen in hun zoektocht naar betere en meer gerichte behandelingen. Bij elke online ticketaankoop kan je een donatie doen voor het CRIG, en zo mee de strijd aangaan tegen kanker. * Deze benefietactie zal doorlopen tot aan de Warmste Week van StuBru in december. Film Fest Gent en UGent zamelen tot dan geld in voor het CRIG.
Together with the premiere of ‘All of Us’, Film Fest Gent will organise a fundraiser* for the Cancer Research Institute Ghent (CRIG). One in three men and one in four women in Belgium is diagnosed with cancer before his or her 75th birthday. While cancer researchers have booked strong successes in the past few decades, the mechanisms behind the cause and development of the disease have not yet been fully unraveled. Researchers still face heavy challenges in their search for better and more precise treatments. With every online ticket purchase, you can donate to the CRIG and help the fight against cancer. * Film Fest Gent and UGent will continue raising money for the CRIG up until the Warmste Week, organized by StuBru in December.
