aving Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran, two of the brightest stars of Sampaguita Pictures, as grandparents, and Master Rapper Francis M as father, make the Magalona siblings true-blue children of showbiz.

Thus, it's not surprising that five— Maxene, Saab, Elmo, Frank, and Arkin— out of eight Magalona siblings have marked their respective spots in showbiz.

But having a popular surname does not entail a bed of roses.

Saab admits, “People will say sikat ka kasi you have the last name, it’s hard, di ba?" she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the recent Johnnie Walker event.

“It’s very difficult to overcome that.

“It’s not my fault that I was born to this family.

"It’s really difficult but okay lang, I’m here.

“Especially with me, it’s hard kasi my sister [Maxene Magalona] is also in showbiz.

“She started way younger, and I always been compared to her ever since I was in high school.

"But the thing is, you just have to find your own thing.

“I didn’t want to compete with her, especially I don’t wanna be compared to her, she’s my best friend, my sister."

“It was really taking up a lot of my time and I had no time doing anything else.

“Kasi for me, I stopped doing TV work, and somehow, I guess you still hear my name doing different things because I chose to do other stuff kasi.”

Saab is a radio DJ, vocalist of the rock band Cheats where her husband Jim Baccaro is also a member, and a blog writer for her own spellsaab.juice.ph.

“They say a lot of things about me na parang, 'Buntis ka kaya ka nagpapakasal.'

“It’s sad to think na people don’t really believe in true love anymore.

“A lot of people assume that young people, when they get married, it means they are pregnant.

“What if we just wanna get married? It’s been seven months and there’s no baby."

So when are they planning to have a baby?

“Not right now,” Saab answered.

Saab said in a previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she and Jim plan to have kids in three to four years as they want to travel first, and spend time with their dog Joey.

“I just have all the time to do all of these.

I am not boxed in, and I don’t have a corporate job nine to five.

“But I am not saying it’s a bad thing to have a corporate job. It is not just for me.

“And I think I found the proper formula: to succeed on my own terms.

“I work hard pa rin, and not become the usual housewife.

“You still need to do what you love."

MARRIED LIFE. Saab still feels giddy over Jim seven months after they got married.

“It’s really really so much fun, and it’s crazy to wake up every day next to him.

“Masaya. It’s the best decision I have made.”

Saab clarified that she didn’t get married because she's pregnant.

istorical biopic “Heneral Luna,” the Philippines’ official submission to the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film category, has hit a big milestone a month after its release, earning some P100M at the tills. It is said that “Heneral Luna” was made to the tune of P80M.

“The presentation, direction, and internal harmony of the Beatles all owed a huge amount to Brian Epstein.”

The new contract features the signatures of the musicians, with the fathers of McCartney and Harrison acting as cosignatories because their sons were younger than 21 at the time.

Orlando Bloom visits migrant camp

ollywood actor Orlando Bloom paid a visit to the Gevgelija migrant transit camp in Macedonia on September 29, as part of his role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations’ Children’s Fund Unicef.

The “Lord of the Rings” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor played with children as he toured the camp, which lies on Macedonia’s border with Greece.

He also spoke with several of the camp’s inhabitants, who were awaiting the next part of their journey into Western Europe.

Thousands of migrants, many of them Syrian refugees, have been making their way towards the European Union, first embarking on perilous boat journeys to Greece and then continuing on buses and trains.

Europe’s migration crisis has seen a large numbers of people stuck in chaotic and squalid conditions on countries’ borders or walking along roads seeking a new home.

Billboard announced on September 29 that the pop star will be honored at its Dec. 11 Women in Music event in New York City. The decade-old event will be televised for the first time, on Lifetime on Dec. 18.

Manny Pacquiao announces senatorial bid in 2016 As Posted on PEP.ph

inoy boxing champ Manny Pacquiao has announced his intention to run for senator in the 2016 national elections.

The athlete-politician made the announcement at his last State of the District Address in Sarangani province earlier on October 5.

However, according to ABS-CBN News, the 36-year-old congressman did not say under which political party he would be running. “Yes, I'm going to run for [a] Senate post

this coming 2016 election. But as to which party, that's still t be determined,� says Manny.

The Pambansang Kamao is currently under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party, which is headed by 2016 presidential candidate Jejomar Binay.

But according to earlier reports, the Liberal Party is open to include Manny to their senatorial lineup should he aim for a senatorial post in 2016.

Hindi rin lingid sa atin na kung gaano kasarap ito ay siya ring napakaraming calories nito na hindi pwede sa mga dianbetics at sa mga nais magbawas ng timbang.
