„I‘m Sophie, a designer & spun cotton artist with a passion for all sorts of art, telling us stories from the past but also for the fascinating beauty of nature amongst us.

Filasophie is a Design & Manufacture Atelier established in 2013 based in the Black Forest region, Germany.
After spending several years working as a fashion designer and product manager, Sophie Boutel now creates exclusive patterns & delightful illustrations for your textile and surface design needs.

Sophie loves to explore both current trends but also historical art particularly taken reference from antique hunting illustrations and 18th century pattern designs. All designs are hand drawn for a very unique touch and manipulated digitally to suit to your creative ideas.
She is available for design services as well as for custom and commissioned projects for any market.

Sophie Boutel grew up at the foot of the Black Forest - a region near Alsace and Switzerland, which holds a rich heritage of the former textile and wallpaper industry.
Her inspiration for surface pattern designs and illustrations come from a combination of current trends, historical art and the beauty of nature - particularly taken reference from antique hunting illustrations and 18th century floral wallpaper patterns.
The collection „Domino“ pays tribute to historical „papiers dominotés“ and shows a wide range of traditional pattern styles - all drawn by hand and manipulated digitally which forms a symbiotic relationship of past and present...
