Matching Campaign Update If you haven’t seen our front entrance hallway, then you may not have seen the final total of our Matching Campaign. Thanks to our wonderful members we raised $4,816, which isn’t far off our goal of $5,000, and will be matched to $9,632. We want to thank everyone for donating! This money will be used to continue to provide quality programming for our center!

New Advisory Council Members We would like to extend a hearty welcome to the following members who are joining or continuing with the Advisory Council as of July 20th: Regina Knight, Barbara Brown, Bertha Brown, Nancy Brown, Shirley Kerkvliet, Larry McDougal, Charles Owens and John Young. These fabulous folks have agreed to serve on the council for the next two years. Thank you for volunteering and welcome aboard!

FLIP (Friends Learning In Pairs) is an intergenerational, volunteer tutoring program under the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Tutors work one-on-one with students in Nashville Public schools helping mentor, encourage, and provide friendship, and assistance to students struggling in Reading and Math. Commitments are made for once a week for two hours working with a total of four students. Tutors come from all walks of life and professional backgrounds, but what ties our volunteers together is the willingness to help students within our community. Tutors must be 55 or older and must be eager to share their love of reading to help improve the lives of elementary school age students. If you are interested in changing lives in and around the community, please contact Bethanie Peadro at (615) 860-7180 or bpeadro@fiftyforward.org or just swing by her office located at FiftyForward Madison Station.
